Resetting ECU for 6MT?

Resetting ECU for 6MT?
I've read a few threads about people ressetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery, etc.
Does this apply for the 6MT also? specifically the drive-by-wire throttle? I just drove a sedan today and the throttle response seemed quicker than my coupe. I have also been drving mostly "nice" for the first 1500 miles during the break in period. Now I'm ready to open her up, but it seems sluggish.
I was wondering if the above issue might be the solution. Thanks in advance.

Re: Resetting ECU for 6MT?
Hey Guys.....I've been giving this some thought relative to my 6mt. Do not know if the auto tranny plays a big roll in the resetting for adaptive driving style. We need some 6mter's to post their experience.....my K&N replacement air filter definately improved my milage somewhat and I finally broke the 20 mpg around town. (Was getting 17 to 18mpg before at 2200 miles).
In any event....if any fellow 6mter's have done the old battery disconnect thing overnight and feel a change in performance for the + side, let us all know.

Re: Resetting ECU for 6MT?
I disconnected the battery for 2 hours when i reached 1400 miles.....i think that should have been sufficient...right?
it had negative effects on throttle sensitivity.....
The gas pedal "felt" heavier and tougher to push in, however that only last a couple of days, then the gas pedal went back to being light again. I did not see any difference in the DBW-throttle lag...it still remained

Re: Resetting ECU for 6MT?
RR, try the ECU resetting again bro. The heavy feeling on the gas might have been your imagination. If it does get heavy, go into your ESM for the relearning procedure on the on the Gas Pedal and Throttle valve. In case you haven't found them b4, the info is in ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM. Scroll down to --'Accelerator Pedal Position Learning' and to 'Throttle Valve Closed Position learning'.
There's a ton of interesting stuff in that ECS section including other basic tune-up procedures. Good Luck dude. Let me know if I can help...........
