Does anyone know how you can tell if your car is pre wired for SAT?

Re: Prewiring for SAT

there should be a small black sticker on the inside of your driver door sill and it will give you the pre-wired message. Also, you can pull up the black plastic housing where the amp is (lift up carpet in trunk and amp is under housing to the left of your spare tire) and if you have a white plug back there, you are pre-wired.

Re: Prewiring for SAT

Check your VIN below to see if you are pre-wired (last 6 digits):
Sedan:
321894 & Higher
Coupe:
210827 & Higher
You can check this link for a price, don't hesitate to call with any questions.

Re: Prewiring for SAT

Ha Ha Love the license plate!!

Ok I didn't see the black sticker and wasw too lazy to empty the trunk but my vin ends in 212985. If I am pprewired is the install on the SAT easily done on my own? I'll probably have to check the trunk won't I. If it's not prewired what do I have to do? Shouldn't the dealer fix this? Guess this has probably been gone over b4 but I wasn't payin attention.

You are pre-wired. The install is VERY easy. All you need is 10MM wrench and some velcro (comes with the kit). It took me about a 1/2 hour.

Re: Prewiring for SAT

Better hope you are prewired. Mine isn't and I called Infiniti Customer Service and the short version of thier answer was we are screwed.

Well I guess Ill have to double chek the trunk and then Order the parts. Now to decide which SAT to get. Is there a difference in price monthly between Sirrus And XM?

Re: Prewiring for SAT

I heard Sirrus is the best so far since they use next to no add's in any of there stations. As for XM it's overrated and is FULL OF commercial add's. When I get my Sat hooked up, Sirrus is the only route I'm going.

Yup Im going with Sirrus too it's 3 bucks a month more but I heard it's better or at least more recognized so it's probably worth it.

Re: Prewiring for SAT

Before ordering SAT for my G35c, I also was wondering whether to go with XM or Sirius. I got some literature on both systems and looked at the program lists. My music interests are: jazz, new age, the 50s and 60s, and classical. When I looked at the XM channels for these four areas, they were all commercial free. That helped me make a decision for XM. The real clincher was looking at how the investment community views the two competing systems. XM is way ahead of Sirius. Individuals buying the Sirus may be buying an "Edsel."

Re: Prewiring for SAT

I really dont take stock price into account with my decision. But if you want to take the opinon of corporate america then take a look at how many cacr companies are getting sirrus and not xm.
