Were you on the stock Michelin Pilots? What was the temp outside when it happened? Just curious. I thought the pilots were supposed to have excellent wet traction. But I know they blow when it's raining and 45 degrees outside. I kept fishtailing. I upgraded to Pilot Sport All-Seasons, and I haven't had any problems in the rain and/or cold weather...

You were just scaring me is all

Those pics brings tears to my eyes... poor G. I'm just glad to hear you escaped without serious injuries. Sorry to hear about this and I wish the best of luck to your gf for quick recovery.

An appraisal was done: $22,000 in repairs (new hood, front bumper, rear bumper, right front wheel, right front suspension, right door, roof, etc.). I guess I did flip the G! Witness said i flipped the car, but it crashed so fast i didnt notice going upside down and i didnt see much roof damage (the roof must of slid on the wet grass without scratching much). The repair guy also asked if i flipped it considering he noticed roof damage. So i guess i did or it could have just been the tree... So its up to my insurance, they'll do another appraisal and decide if they want to fix it or not...

Thanks for the kind words. My gf is still in alot of pain, but she's moving around alot on her own now. Some cars when you don't put on a seat belt - the airbags won't deploy. I'm thankful they did, becuase it probably could have been worse. I know the seatbelts on the G are far back and irritating, but always buckle up! It'll eventually save your life or alot of pain one day...

Glad to hear she's doing somewhat better.

If your passengers are uncomfortable and dont like the seat belt, get this.. not only does it keep the rattling down and your leather cleaner w/o a passenger, it will also help with chafing of the belt on their neck & shoulder. $5...

Just curious to know if you girlfreind usually doesn't wear a seat belt? I am surprised you let her go without one especially in wet weather.

Go outside, pick a good solid brick wall, back up 100 feet and start running toward it. Run as fast as you can. At the last possible second before impact, dive toward the wall and throw your arms out in front of you. BAM! Did that hurt? You were probably going about 15MPH if you're in half decent shape. Now crank the speed up to about 40 and try it again. Then 60.

Why don't you wear your belt?
It just bothers me to be attached to my seat. Besides, sometimes, it gets tence without me even braking. Say I lean over for something, it activates. That just messes me up. I will start wearing them though.

It's strange... I was never a seat belt person because of past experience where I was in an accident that actually might have killed me had I been wearing on. This was pre airbag and the way the front impact was, the engine and tranny moved back and pinned my seatbelt release to the console and I would have been trapped in the car which was shortly hit again from the back essentially splitting the car in 2... went through a windshield up to my shoulders etc... but was able to walk away...

A few years after that, I was driving home one night and had one of those gut feelings and put it on which was totally out of character for me when I am sitting at a light and got rear ended by a girl doing 45 that took her eyes off the road to check her pager and I was glad I was wearing it...

My senior year in HS something happened that really made me think and I have been wearing it ever since. Two of my friends were driving on a twisty road on a spring day, windows down, sunroof open and loving life. A deer jumped out in front of the car and they swerved to miss it and ended up hitting it and losing control and rolling the car down a ditch. One was wearing a bely and the other wasnt. When the car rolled he actually fell out of the window and the car crushed him. Things like that really make you think.

Sorry for the long post and bummer of a story but hopefully it makes someone think... Be safe guys and I really hope your gf gets better soon.

Wow, that sucks... (Now you're really freaking me out )
Did you just slide off the road, or did you do some 360's or what? I guess I better be more careful...

As for your GF, yeah, I hope she does well. I know how bad backs can be... I ruptured 2 discs, had surgery, and then herniated them

I want to know what road this happened on? I am also located in the Orlando area. By the way...sign up for the G35 club and you may find yourself in a new '05 for a great price.
