SOFT PAINT G-35?

I recently spent the night at the beach. The next moring there were seagull or pelican droppings on the hood of my new G-35. The car was washed within an hour of the find. Bad news, though, it had allready eaten into the clear coat. Needless to say i'm very disapointed in the paints ability to fend off simple bird dropings for even one night. I guess its buy a car cover or don't drive where there are birds. I have an appointment to have the dealer buff it out. $50 to $100 just for the hood. This could get expensive. Be fore warned G-35 Soft Paint

Re: SOFT PAINT G-35?

I've been told that most mid-level cars nowadays are going to have more vulnerable paint due to new environmental regulations. There's now a significant jump in cost up to the level where paints can fight off bird dropping and road debris, etc. Or so I was told.

Just gonna have to lay the wax on thick. Unless there's an aftermarket hard candy shell out there. Is there?

Re: SOFT PAINT G-35?

that happened to my boyfriend's car... he got it recently painted about a month ago. i think it's the fact that it's still newly painted. but then you never know. it never happened to my mom's 2003 either. and i'd leave **** like that on until i want to wash it. i've also heard a theory that you shouldn't wash a brand new car until after a year, but i don't know...

Re: SOFT PAINT G-35?

Thanks for the reply. The service manager at Lokey Infinity in Tampa Fl. told me the very same thing. Something about the new paints lacking flourocarbons and such, new EPA regs. ect. Good to here the same from someone else.

Dude, I baby that car too much as it is. I take my 99 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 through the worst hell imaginable on trail rides and it doesn't have a flaw on it. It's the paint. But your right, what about next time. I have to protect it with somthing, birds are gonna fly and so is the *hit.

Re: SOFT PAINT G-35?

Buffing will take this out but not easily. It's mighty scary looking. I'm concerned about next time or even junk from the road if the paint is that weak.
