Holla,
How do you guys/gals clean your Engine Bay? That's if you keep it clean.
P.S. I did a search.

I cover up all electronics, take off engine cover, and spray litely with a hose and sum mild degreaser. Very lightly. Then use cleaning wipes, detailer spray, and tire shine whipes for the hoses. Hope that helps, little brushes help too.

I cover up the electronics, filter for SC and use a high pressure washer...then, I use an air compressor to blow all standing water away.

never clean it. wouldn't buy a used one that was cleaned either. normal dirt will show there was nothing abnormal in the long run. but for show would be something else.

connect the garden hose to the water heater in the garage.
use an attachment that let's me mix a little degreaser with soap.
Don't cover anything, but then i don't open/spray the btty compartment or soak the belts or alt.
use a towels to dry heavy water, then finish with the leaf blower
Works great.
Cheers, ted

Go to autopia.org and look for some detailing tips there.
My only advice on top of everything that has been said here is to let the engine come up to normal operating temperature to assist in the removal of the built up grime.

Same as RPMZ, but make sure all the electronics are covered properly, and don't spray too much or too hard.

that's also a great way to crack your block....introducing COLD water to a HOT block CAN crack it.Originally Posted by spendgy
