Post your rattles and squeaks (if any)

I've got a couple that are REALLY pissing me off, pretty much only happen when I go over bumps but one seems to be coming from my nav unit or thereabouts and the other is from my passenger side door.

This is after getting two of them fixed - one in my driver's side window and the other in my rearview mirror. Damn new model kinks...

Yes going over certain bumps makes my center dash or nav unit creak. Also when the windows are rolled down a little or all the way down, I can hear something {{{Twack}}} when I go over bumbs. Definately not build like german cars.

Just turn the music up and problem solved ;-)

But on a serious note I noticed my chair is a little squeeky, but I'm a very big guy though so I thought it'd be normal for that to happen in any car I get in. When I shut the door it shut's really loud though so I dunno if that's a problem. Seems kinda loose or something. Other then that no squeeky squeeky sounds.

Pretty clean so far. Got the car in January, and have a couple little rattles periodically in the rear deck area. Another one in the sunroof area only when open tho.
Occasionally I'll get a grunt or groan from the centre stack area, could be the navi , but not enough to be bothersome.

wreck, I had the same problem with my window. Took it to a dealer, I guess its a known problem - they replaced it and now it's fine.

And yeah eddie I just turn up the music otherwise I get pissed every time I hear them.

Are German cars really any better? I've heard tons of reports of BMWs with rattle problems and this is after 3+ years of the same damn body style.

this is scary. i was in the middle of creating the EXACT same topic.... in fact, i just got off the phone w/the $tealer to drop my coupe of next week to have the center console & rear deck lid looked at.... you are not alone! i have 1700 mi and the creaks & rattles are increasing.... for me, they only happen when i'm on grooved pavement & higher (freeway) speeds. i think there are two TSB's out, one for the rear deck lid & speaker grills, and one for the console where it meets the windshield. i am requesting that both be done. please update if any of you have any luck w/getting these fixed. i'll update as soon as i get it back (next week).

Cool.. I'll have the dealer check out the noise from my windows. It's time for an oil change anyways.

As for the German car rattles, yah I guess it's true. Initially they are solid, no rattles. But I guess after 3+ years it's not like new. I just expect all other cars to be similar.

Re: Post your rattles and squeaks (if any)

My car also has some rattles. One occurs when I go over lane markers on the freeway - sounds like a sharp vibration coming from the roof? Also have noticed a rear speaker rattle with certain bass notes (so turning up the sound system just creates another rattle!).
I also own a BMW, and yes the BMW's are much quiter inside than the G35. As a matter of fact, if I drive my BMW with a door ajar, it sounds like the G35. There is that much difference in noise. The G35 has a much stiffer ride than BMW, and a more "tinny" feel to it. But the G35 is a lot more fun to drive and that is saying something!! It is a sports car 100% of the time, whereas the BMW is a luxury car until you get on it, than it behaves like a sports car. That is the BMW magic.
There was a post last week discussing this rattle topic that you may also want to revisit..

Hmm.. strange I drove a 1995 BMW M3 for well over 3+ years and it was eL Rattler !! The door wasn't as solid but nothing comapred to my buddies 2002 Corvette...lol

My uncle has a 1999 7 Series BMW and his trunk and back left door rattles as well... And his 7 Series has the biggest electrical problems ever !!

As long as my G35 doesn't rattle as much as my old M3 I'm a happy camper... What's really pissing me off is my brakes... They're already making sqeek sounds @ 2900 miles on it... *sigh*

If you ever hear a rattle from the passenger door area, it is probably the damn seat belt extender thing. If it is pointing forward like someone just used it, the buckle rattles against the door. It's a pain in the ***, you have to push it down after your passenger gets out. Gotta love how they don't test these things.
