Drilled Alluminum Pedals
Drilled Alluminum Pedals
Has anybody installed the drilled alluminum pedals. Does it just clamp-on the existing pedals? There is a set on "SticklyZ" I was thinking of getting.

Grubbs infiniti also sells them

do a search for pedals in the Tech+Mod section of the forum, there is a long thread on advice for installation of the pedals
it took me an hour to fiddle with the pedals then 10 minutes to install everything

Prob the easiest mod you can do...and it looks great...
Took me a little less than an hour, but I did it at night....next mod will be in sunlight lol.....You just need a mirror, flathead screwdriver, and some patience working in the tight space. Later Guys

Re: Drilled Alluminum Pedals
I would add two comments to the pedal install FAQ:
#1. Only one side of the clip on the original gas pedal unclips. That's the side facing the door. I chewed the hell out of my clip trying to pry it off from the other side (which was never coming off) because the gap at the top of the clip seemed easier to wedge a screwdriver in. I think this is an easy mistake to make because the clip for the aluminum pedal clips on both sides, and it's not exactly easy to see the original clip from that angle. Also, one of the two pictures on Ken's site makes it look like the solidly attached side came off, when it's really (I think) a mirror shot.
#2. Thankfully, I had a relatively easy time getting the brake cover on. My strategy (for an AT brake pedal): (1) flatten the cover out a little before installing; (2) distend the broad part of the lower lip outward; (3) install the cover from top, shifting from side to side to fit the top corners; (4) work the side lips over the pedal about a third to halfway down; (5) holding the lower lip outward as much as possible with your finger tips, pull the lower part of the cover over the pedal so that at least the broad part of the lower lip is over it rather than pinched under; (6) work the lower corners and sides of the cover over the pedals, which shouldn't be too hard because these are the most flexible and stretchable parts of the cover; (7) using a very thin bladed flathead screwdriver, pry the shallow parts of the lower lip out by inserting the flathead directly from below, then twisting the handle 180 degrees upward. You'll need to do this several times on both sides of the lip, while at the same time re-bending the pedal closer to its original shape. Make sure the broad part of the lip doesn't slip underneath, or you'll probably need to restart from #4 above. (8) Ice down your aching index fingers.
The brake took me about 6 minutes this way, after 2 tries. Dead pedal took me maybe 90 seconds. Gas pedal took me almost an hour, all of it related to the clip. Would have taken maybe 5 minutes normally.

Re: Drilled Alluminum Pedals
Finally got my parts, mostly (more on that later) and installed them this weekend - they look great!
Unfortunately, they only sent 1 brake/clutch pad instead of 2 for the 6MT. I'll get the other one next week sometime.
I agree with the above poster in that starting from the top and working your way down is the easiest way to go on the brake/clutch pads. Took me about 15 minutes - but now that I got the hang of it, the next one should only take 5 or so.
P.S. - If your looking to save a couple of bucks, check nissanparts.cc. I only paid $80 shipped for the 6MT set.
