There's much more going on here than just the material and thermal reflectance/transmittance and conductance. What you are truly concerned to keep the heat out of the car is the Reflectance to Infra-red light waves. Those are the ones that carry much of the thermal energy that heats your interior. It's possible in theory to have a film that transmits 95% of visable light, but reflects a very high percentage of IR light. I have experience in the Anti-Reflex coating industry and lenses that transmit 99% of visable light do so at a hugely increased reflex in the UV spectrum. So, I would think it possible to design a layer of films that pass visable, but reflect IR. Of course there are other concerns, Flexability of the film, cost.

The bottom line is without a broad spectrum reflectance chart, we cannot know what Huper films do and how.

Quote: No. I've heard people say metallic films interfere with radio and navigation. I then asked around the boards and got a few responses from people who have both metallic tint and navigation. None of these people said their navigation was affected in any way. Therefore, those people who choose to do ceramic over metallic due solely to their concerns of navigation and radio interference are just wasting money.

edit: I also recently just purchased Solar Guard HP film, which is partially metallic, and have had no problems with my radio or navigation.
Sorry my bad. I read his post too quickly. I though I saw "...the general consensus was that the ceramic films don't interfere with our radio or navigation"
