Actually there's 6 dealers if you count the ones in the neighboring suburbs.Originally Posted by ///m-tree

Because someone would really sell a car for 250 over invoice when they could JUST as easily sell it for 1500 over invoice to the next guy.

If this were the case, there would be no inventory sitting on the lot.Originally Posted by mc2

I love it when folks have paid a given price and than insist that it is not possible to do better in there area. Usually (as is the case in your post) someone subsequently posts that they indeed did get their car considerably cheaper than you did and in your area. We'll never see an acknowledgement that maybe, just maybe, your car might have been had for less money.
In any event, Invoice +$500 for a fully loaded 05 CPE 6MT in Maryland - ordered 1/27/05.

Nobody subsequently posted that they got better. i live in southern california, so i think i would know better than any who don't. I've been in the regional forums where price is discussed.. why dont you do a search on dealer prices in southern california and see what you can turn up before you are so quick to tell us what you "love". Find me a post where somebody paid 500 over invoice in SoCal and i'll eat my words.. You act like i just got a price and decided it was the lowest without doing any research. If somebody is going to subsequently post that they got lower, i'm pretty sure it would have been posted in the forums somewhere already. So go use the search button before being telling me what you "love".Originally Posted by SaltiDawg

yes, there are practically no 6MTs in stock. If there are, they don't last. Ask anybody who's been living looking in SoCal. As a matter of fact dealers were not even honoring VPP when i was looking. Do a little research before having so much to say.
I imagine at this point dealers might start dealing or maybe in the next few months as people start placing orders for 06's but anytime before this nobody in SoCal is dealing.
But really, I don't need to have this discussion, because i've done my research and i live here and i've been on the regional forums. i doubt any of those three things apply to you so that's fine. I dont even know why you would be trying to speak against what i said when you don't even live here.
I love people who just assume because they got a price somewhere else that they are really good at dealing and getting a bargain when really price is just dictated by market demand. And then they assume that you could get that same price ANYWHERE in the world because they got the skillZ........ and then they post without doing any kind of search or research.

I am getting $1000 above invoice for a fully loaded black/graphite 6MT in MA. I will do this if I dont have to pay for shipping. I have a 2004 5AT now in mint to sell so I can move to the 6MT. If anyone is interested PM me.

Well, mc2, at least you didn't call me a "tough guy" as you did someone else above. Originally Posted by mc2

You have repeatedly adopted a defensive posture and attacked anyone that has suggested that you may have gotten a better price than you did. There have been posts from SoCal folks talking about deals similar to the rest of the free world.
As far as inventory, the Infiniti site shows as many 6MT's in stock within 20 miles of many SoCal Zip codes as there are shown for my Suburban Washington, DC, Zip Code. However, being in denial you'll likely claim that Infiniti just doesn't do as good a job of tracking West Coast Inventory.Oh yeah, I never claimed any ability to be "really good at dealing and getting a bargain" - in fact I'm not so good at it. However, you may need to face the fact that you're apparently not so good at either. Simply different outcomes.
I hope you enjoy your car and that you feel you got the best price posssible.
Bye. Ploink.

You can say whatever you want. I'd like to see you back something up that you've said.
At the time of my search dealerships were not even honoring VPP pricing so i'm not sure why you are even arguing. I don't have VPP so it doesn't apply to me. But like i said, use the search function before saying anymore, since you obviously havent.
nor am i "attacking" anybody who got a better deal than me. If you read my posts, i said location plays a big factor, and the only person i am "attacking" as you might put it are those that seem to think that location and tranny plays no factor.
I think you're the only person attacking. For some reason you feel the need to think because you got 500 over invoice in your state and area and that i've done plenty of research and read every single thread about socal pricing on this forum that i wont' know better than you about market demand in the area that i live in?

Hey,
Im negotiating a price right now in a Chicago Suburb Dealer.
For an 05 Auto with only option of Performance Package. Which is the 18" wheels and tires.
OTD price that I figured from their notes is $32,600.00
Is this a good deal?
Let me know guys.
Thanks

Well evidently you didn't do enough research. you could have gotten a better deal if you would have used Grubbs out of Texas. Granted it was not a California dealer, but if you would have researched you would have clearly seen that you could have gotten a better deal. Before you so quickly go on your rampage of how you did this and did that and start to flame people just for giving their opionins, do us a favor DON'T!

I don't think you could get a 6mt coupe up here in WA for under $750 above invoice. We only have one dealer and they can sell the 6mt's to the Microsofty's for MSRP.

Maybe this is a newb question, but is there a special promotion with Grubbs Infinity on the G's? I'm from Oklahoma City and wouldn't mind a quick 3 hour stint if it's gonna save me some $$$$$$$$.
Having a trade makes a difference too.
I paid more for my G with relation to MSRP than most, but I also got a good deal more for my trade at this particular dealer. When you do the math I came out on the good side - a couple of hundred over invoice.
