05 prices
i can tell you that in cali (the bigger markets like l.a., orange county, s.f. bay area), it is truly harder to get close to invoice pricing for a 6mt coupe. it's just the way it is here. however, i'm sure if you go to fresno or other small towns in cali, it may be easier. i think the lowest i've heard was $500 over invoice. i purchased my 05 6mt coupe for about $1500 over invoice during the pre-order stages. i'm sure i can get a better deal now.
about grubbs pricing (freshalloy member), after shipping charges, it also comes out to about $1500 over invoice for a 05 6mt coupe. i don't doubt other member's claim about their haggling prowess. but, i think they should also consider what type of market it may be in other areas. for example, you would never believe that ppl are overbidding $100k over list price for a 20-30 year old home in the s.f. bay area ($700K for a 1500-2000 sq ft fixer-upper). and this practice is VERY common...so common that it's expected for homes to go for $50k-$100k over listed price. so,it really all depends on the market.

I didn't flame anybody, i was obviously flamed for giving MY opinion on location and transmission.
Like someone posted earlier, grubbs has to + shipping. In the end it is the MUCH more for SoCali folks.. I know plenty about grubbs and have done plenty of research. You are obviously the one that has not done research. So please dont go on a rampage and flame me for giving my opinion and what I've been able to find from my research. Thanks.

And is it really that much better of a deal from Grubbs? Did you buy yorus from Grubbs? how much over invoice are they giving?
here, let ME post some information for you since you didn't seem to look for any yourself: https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...grubbs+pricing
I'm not sure why all of you want to insist that you can get such a bargain in SoCal when you neither live here nor have probably not done any research on buying in SoCal (as i cant imagine why you would).. If anything you guys are the ones in denial that you just CANT get the bargain in SoCal that you an get elsewhere... it's really not that difficult to accept. Nobody has been able to show me ANYTHING that proves otherwise. So just accept it until you can.
The only point i'd like to make is that location (supply and demand.. simple economics) and transmission matter very much. Location more importantly than anything. This is from my research.. and yes i have read EVERY post on pricing in southern california up to the beginning of this month when i took delivery of my G35.
Everyone has so much to say but nothing to back it up with. Show me numbers and show me posts prior to 5/5. I have seen neither. If you can then i'll just shut the hell up and admit i am an idiot. Have a nice day and thanks for your time.

Grubbs will sell to any Active Duty or Retired Military and also VPP.
For the Military folk, they will sell at Invoice. It was $700 to Ship the car anyplace in the lower 48. If a local dealer is presented the Option of selling you a car at Invoice + $500 and making a sale (and a profit) OR losing a sale to Grubbs, one would think the dealer would at least consider this sale - in MD or CA or IL. For non-Military, substitute VPP price in the above if eligible. In any event, it will allow setting a baseline or starting price... one which you could get the car for at another dealership.
Don't know if the CA guy is still hi-jacking this thread (he's become invisible to me and is off my Christmas Card List
) but the question posed by the OP was re buying a G in Maryland. The demonstrable answer is that a new G can be had for Invoice + some hundreds locally in the DC area - you've done it, I've done it, and I see that you've helped some numbers of others to do so. The OP may want to PM you and avoid the extraneous and false rhetoric.

I was not going to follow up on this thread … but call me crazy, I have always done better then most... if not all, when putting my head to something. Since a young age I have done things most thought impossible or against the odds.
17 years old ... I walk into a 7-11 for a job, pull the “Help Wanted” sign out of the window & walk right into the owners back office.
Greetings, my name is John ... as I thro the sign onto his desk. You will not need this anymore. Bam... I'm in... Now for salary talks... everyone in the store made $6-7.50 an hour. Some there 5 years ... I asked for 12.00 off the books, he thought I was crazy ...Nobody was off the books or ever made this kind of money ... I said I will work the week for free ... after this week if I'm not worth 12.00 an hour .. I'll leave without pay ...After the week he gave me 13.00 an hour... within 1 month I was making 15.00 an hour off the books ... More then any manager in any 7-11 around ..& I was only a counter clerk.
Point is... I sell myself... and could sell you a used pair of shoes if I wanted ... I can reverse the theory & buy just the same ... I don't walk this earth along side others ... I lead brother ... If you or others could not do what I say I can ... sorry to hear (what size shoe are ya tough guy?)
Now 18 years later ....I live 2 houses down from the guy who owned 5 .. 7-11's at one time. I'm the guy who raised his business profit by 33% my first year there. He's rich from his business success... I'm rich because I do what others can't (just ask my wife)

whether or not you can see what I post, i'm glad you just made my point for me. 700 + 500 =...... 1200. Oh wait, you have to get an FA membership too don't you? Well i guess that makes it 50 dollars more than what i paid. Man. I got a steal.
And active duty, retired military and VPP must apply to almost 95% of G35 owners too. Oh god what was i thinking. Yes, that is a steal!
Oh yeah, G35 Vision, you paid 300 over invoice for your car, not 250, AND you paid 375 dollars in a PREP fees? What the hell is a PREP fee? I didn't have a Prep fee on my car, just like most everyone else on the forum. I think you got tooled, but they did it in a way to make you feel good about yourself, sounds to me like the dealer got you good.
Either way. Sorry about hijacking your thread i'm done here with these guys who all talk a lot but have nothing to show for it. It just frustrates me to see it. Good luck getting a good deal danrjos, i might suggest waiting a couple of months. It will be even easier to get dealers to work with you if you are able to wait till closer to the end of 05.

danjros, I live in VA and I almost made a deal with a dealer in MD for $500 over Invoice with no Processing fee. The dealer in my area matched the deal so I bought it in VA. The guys name is Matt Moore and he was hungry for the business, his work# is 410-480-4916 and his cell # is 443-838-7987. Tell him Steve Wilson in VA sent you. Good Luck.

LoL!
(With a Hindi accent) - Would you like some cigarettes and a hustler?
I can't believe the best example of a success story would be working at a 7-11.
Sorry, just thought it was a knee slapper.

This is a great post for danjros.
If one enters a dealership with the belief that there is little room to negotiate I can’t see how the price will come down from below what you believed going in.
In your case you knew that you could get the car (in MD) for $500 over invoice so you and your local (VA) dealer each had a decision to make. If the local dealer refused to match, he potentially lost a sale. If he chose to match, you were ahead and had the possible peace of mind of dealing locally.
In the case of military & Grubbs. The price is Invoice + $0 + $700 Shipping. No fees to FreshAlloy or anyone else. SO, with that in mind a military person could break even if the local dealer would accept Invoice + $700 as there is no shipping for the local dealer. For VPP this would work the same. If one is not otherwise eligible for VPP, I believe they can pay like a $100 at Fresh Alloy and thus become eligible. I wouldn't necessarily suggest that - really it would seem that your success and also mine and some other's was based on having the knowledge that we had the option of paying X dollars at an out-of-state dealer and allowing the local dealer to either match or near match that or lose the sale.
Congrats on a great deal and danjros may want to PM wnt1bd for his sales contact in MD - I suspect it is the same MD dealer that offered you the Invoice + $500.
