For those of you that have good credit and a G on order, you may want to check out Ohio Central Savings Bank, www.ocssavings.com. My G comes in next week and I just got approved for a 4 year loan @ 3.7%. You can apply online and do everything over the phone. They do out of state loans! By the way, I'm in Florida!

 

That's really great man, but damn I still can't picture your car paymets on a 4 year loan.. ouch...

They gave me 3.7% at the dealership in Seattle.

 

on that 3.7% loan. Is there any prepayment penalty? I read on bankrate that a penalty "may" apply?

I am considering using the same place if the dealership cant match or beat.

 

The 3.7% (actually I looked and it's 3.72%) I got from the dealership was from Chase Auto Finance, and there's NO prepayment penalty.

 

You guys were lucky. I got 6.9%. (through Chase Manhattan...my employer does not have a credit union, they consider me a "ghost" since i have a high credit standing, no long term credit history, rented apartment 3 years) they suggested to me after 1 and a half years of payment to refinance at a lower rate.

 

1.5 years is a long time to wait to refinance. There are refinance calculators out there to help you figure out the math. I have looked in the past and it seems when the car is about 1.5/2 years old you lose on the refinance since most of the interest is paid off at the beginning of the loan. You might want to look around for a cheaper rate.

Yes, Ohio Central Savings has a pre-payment penalty if you pay it off at any point other than the last year. The penalty is $150.00. I am going to the dealer with this offer to see if they can beat it. They are telling me that they should be able to beat it, but I'll be prepared just in case! The Miami Infiniti Dealer uses Chase as well.

 

I got 3.5% for 4 years from chase in NY. It seems if you have excellent credit, low procentage aint a problem.
