The new SLKs look pretty nice. However, like some members have already mentioned, I'd be worried about the german car reliability. A have a few buddys with new BMWs and within 2 years they start having electrical issues. Not a big deal if you dont mind bringing the car in and using a loaner car I guess.

We almost bought one of the SLK350's. but it was just barely out of what we could afford realistically. The SLK55 is phenominal. It is a good trade depending on what you plan on using it for. Are you like my wife and I and get bored with cars after 2 years? then yeah move on to something different. The 7 speed auto is smooth as silk, and there is no lag from a dead stop like with the G. It is a nice car, sight lines are good out of it, unlike most convertables, and the retractable hard top is super slick. Test drive the ///AMG and you will never even consider the base model though. It is like getting in a 330ci and then test driving the M3... the difference is night and day.

I wouldn't because I am not a fan of the SLK series. Theres just something about that little convertible that I don't care for...
An SL however...

If you think the Infiniti service is expensive, be sure to price out the MB service. I have owned a BMW and an Audi in the past, and am sorely disappointed in the quality with recent German cars.

I do however wish you much success in your search.
I think you are confused. when I said 350 was a 2 seater, I mean SLK350, not the 350z. there is no SLK320.

What do you see "New Model Showcase" , but IMO if all possible I would go for the SLK55 AMG

There is an SLK320. Just not a 2005 model.

And where do you base this conclusion of yours?

ah, youve got me there, I was thinking of '05s only. my bad. but on that note, I definitely wouldnt get that body style SLK. the '05 remake is a big improvement.

I agree. I drove an '04 SLK for a week and it's fun but not something I'd like to own. I like the styling of the '05 much more because of its likeness to the SL.
