Does anyone else experience this?

After a drive, I pull in the drive way and when I sit in neutral....a nasty grindy sound from the front of the car??????? When I press the clutch it goes away...

Anyone?????

Yea, also that same chatter while keeping it slow in first...then accelerating...anyone experience that too?

(I know what the so called clutch chatter is, but this is not from engagement into first)... this is already in gear. Hopefully I am not confusing what the so-called chatter is...keep in mind my join date, I am already familiar with all possible topics about chatter, but no one has addressed this....or atleast what I read.

I dont have that noise but my car makes a rattling/knocking sound on the left side when I shut it off and sometimes from a stand still acceleration. Mine has been that way since I brought it home.

It has not gotten better or worse in my car nor have I noticed any gradual loss in the performance of the car.

From what I have read, all the noise is due to our flywheel.

remember even in netural with the clutch out your are spinning the Main input shaft on the transmission, my guess is that the noise you are hearing is normal trans noise.

All I hear under these conditions is a whining sound.. not a chatter but it's pretty annoying. I did have the clutch chatter everyone's talking about but it disappeared after breakin.

I tried shutting my car off with the clutch depressed and it did not chatter.

I have the same noise, never really paid much attention to it though.

I think that chatter when you shut it off with the clutch out is because the gears are still spinning. It's normal. I usually park in gear so that doesn't bother me.
