Also let me add im really concerned the color isnt going to match if I get a new bumper. My car sits in a garage but its always open (its a portable type with no door) so the rear is in sunlight every morning for like 5 hours. Id imagine after 2 years its faded so getting a new bumper, its probably not going to match. what

I might just goto another shop and ask how much it is to fix my licence plate bracket. I dont know whats wrong with it, I cant take the plate off to see... the screw wont come out. And just get that fixed and leave the bumper as is.

This s^it fcukin scuks!

You can just drill out the screw head, remove the plate and just
get a new screw hole insert thingie probably.

Replace rear cover and refinish $601.20
Replace bumper clips $15.00
Color sand and buff $45.00
Total due $767.51

Only thing is $45 kinda seems low for paint doesnt it?
The "color sand and buff" charge means for them to polish any "fisheye", "runs", or "trash" out if necessary after refinish. The paint is included in the "Replace rear cover and refinish".

But like I said earlier, there may be more damage underneath, so you should make sure that the guy who is paying knows that is a possibility. Maybe get a "worst-case senario" estimate when you go next time to show him how much it could potentially be. Keep us posted and good luck...

If you take it to the shop I recommended, then do not worry at all about the paint not matching.

When my M3 buddy took his car there, he mentioned how "it would never look the same" well Sal took him inside the shop and showed him a Ferrari they just had completed work on. He told my buddy "If you can tell me what we fixed, then take the car someplace else". Well he had no idea, and it turned out the whole left from side was repaired. Good enough for me

Sorry to hear about this.

Instead of sticking your head under to inspect for damages, I think you best bet is to pull the bumper and see if there are damages to the body and energy absorbing materials underneath.
