No snow here!

Another reason I'm glad to live in New Orleans

My question is still unanswered in this thread. Please can someone let me know whether it is fine to keep the car in my parking lot during cold temperatures. Would this affect stock 19's even if I dont drive the car?

Adas, i can't answer your question with certainty, but if I were to decide not to drive my G all winter, I'd rent space in a garage somewhere....

adas40, not a good idea. The tires will permanently harden. There will be some loss of "stickness" which will result in decreased handling.

It's also not good to leave your car undriven for long periods of time in the cold. You need to get that car moving at least once a week, and the thermostat needle should be right in the middle before you turn it off. I don't know if it would affect the summer tires... but get yourself a set of winters anyways. You already paid so mu ch for a car, might as well invest a little more for your own safety if you do plan to drive it in the winter.

It snowed days after I picked up my 2005 6MT in March. If there was any doubt about getting snow tires in the fall, that took care of it. As an experienced winter driver (20+ years of it), the car was very difficult to handle. Starting on even the slightest of hills was difficult, if not impossible. Driving on the stock tires in winter is an accident waiting to happen.
