Not busting you *****, Willikers. I know rebadging is personal preference. To me, the JDM and USDM models are the same car. Others don't see it that way and nothing's wrong with that.
Agree - the USDM and the JDM are mechanically and aesthetically the same car with only minor differences between them.

Also agree - the parent company does define the vehicle, and in this case they defined one a Nissan Skyline and the other a Infiniti G35. No matter how hard a rebadger tries to make a banana a plantain, in the end it's still a banana.

I didn't take it as a ball-busting at all. A friendly debate is good for the circulation. As you state, people see things differently and there's nothing wrong with that. Rebadging is in the eye of the beholder, but I believe that if you do it inconsistently (fail to complete it throughout the vehicle) it's no better than the rest of the (relative to the beholder) rice out there.

Good morning!

You might as well have a Acura Skyline. IMO, if your going JDM, do it the right way by changing out ALL the Infiniti logos for Nissan. It may take some time to find all the right parts, but I think it's worth it. Here's some pics of my car incase your wondering what the logos might look like JDM style...
Ummmm, correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not), but I think you still have to convert your car to right hand drive. Until then, you're driving a poseur JDM, kinda like how I saw that Scirroco the other night with a "Carrera" badge on it.

I don't get this rebadge crap.

so u believe whats on paper?
if u dyno both cars, the JDM model would have the excact same HP, the R34 GTR had 320HP @ wheel when it was stock. the Japanese underate their car to 280HP for a while.

i'm sorry
but Nissan Japan doesnt define ur car as a Skyline or a G35. the refer it to a V35 only

no one in japan talks about a car by the year or name, all they need is to refer the car as chassis code.

I'll go ahead and say it again...

Reading some of these post have some merit to their argument (for both sides), but others are outright ignorant. Obviously these post are just opinions, so everyone is right. These threads could go on and on and on, but in the end when this thread dies down into the 22nd page of this forum, YOU'RE ALL RICERS!!!! LOL

If rebadging is considered "rice", then all of you are member's of the rice club. Just because you didn't rebadge your G35, Nissan already did it for you! POSERS! Did you know, your not really driving a luxury car. Thanks to great marketing skills, Nissan needed a way to get Americans to pay $34-39k for one of their cars. Now who would pay for a $35,000 Nissan? You would!!

Nissan produces other cars in that price range as well that fall under the Nissan badge(not Infiniti), and they sell perfectly fine. If you buy the Touring model 350Z, Track model 350Z, or the 350Z Roadster you're going to be paying between 34 and 39 grand or more. A nicely hooked up Maxima will also run you about 36 grand.

a fully loaded maxima is still cheaper then the G35. the 350Z is a car thats is placed below the G35 on Nissan's product line.

A fully loaded G35 is more than a fully loaded Maxima, but a fully loaded Maxima is quite a bit more than a base model G35 Coupe.

Loaded Maxima: $36,370
Base G35 Coupe: $33,960
