I spoke to a Nissan performance rep yesterday from a local dealership and he is telling me that the Borla header that is made for the 350Z Will also work on the G35 Coupe. Is anyone familiar with this. I am a little tentative and just need some help in my decision.

 

Almost any engine upgrade part for a 350Z will more likely fit on the G35C. Both have the same engine and Chassis.

Exhaust will just need some modification due to the fact that the G35 is a little longer than the 350. As for headers, it will be fine.

For the most part Ray is correct about 350z parts working on the G35 coupe. But I would excerise some caution since some parts IE the exhaust, etc. may look similiar but since the cars dimensions and underbody may be a little differant so might the parts. Example: The wheel base of the G is a little longer so though some exhaust pieces for the 350z may look like they fit, they may not. As for the headers my suggestion is that if you are gonna try to use something that is not designed specifically for the G35 coupe that maybe you should get under the G and do some quick measurements to be sure. Common sense would tell me though that in that area most likely the header would fit. Hope maybe that helps. Peace. [img]/w3timages/icons/cool.gif[/img]

Glad you asked. I will have the answer for you by the start of next week as my car is currently undergoing R&D at Borla for a G35C exhaust (lifted from the Z just added a few inches of pipe) and to see how similar the 350z headers are with the coupes. Hey bought - I hope you're getting dyno'd before and after so that we can compare to the Stillen numbers. Can't wait!

 

mmmm....I can't wait until a year or so from now, when all these mods have been field tested and I can upgrade with abandon.

Call me skittish, but I'd rather wait until someone else has test piloted this stuff on his $35k car vs. mine.

I was wondering why Borla was developing headers for the G35 if the ones they made for the 350Z would fit?

Or are they trying to fit those on a G35?

 

I called Borla yesterday and they said they are trying to fit the Z headers on the Coupe. They told me to call back the end of next week.
