Why exactly did you buy a turbo timer for a supercharger?

just a precaution. people say its only for turbo. i say WHY? turbo / supercharger = force induction, blower, blades, fins, heat .....

small price to pay for safety.

Because it doesn't make any sense to run it. The blower will only get as hot as the oil running through it (150-220 degrees), while a turbo gets really freakin hot because the exhaust gasses that are like 1500 degrees are running directly through it, hence why you will sometimes see turbos grow red hot. Even while running, my vortech on my mustang was only as warm as the upper intake.

Turbo timers are necessary because when you beat on a car, the temperature of the exhaust will raise about 600 degrees and cause the metal in the turbo to get much hotter, so you need to leave it running as to let it gradually decrease in temperature. You can run that supercharger as hard as you want, and the most it will change in temperature will be 20-30 degrees or so after it has reached operating temperature.

Yup.. supercharger temps don't get nearly as high as turbocharger temperatures..
