is anyone's tach needle choppy?

I just got my 05 g35, love it, its a beautiful car. However, I couldnt help but notice the choppy motion of the tach needle under acceleration, I've driven all kinds of luxury brand cars before, some as old as 10 years, and i've never seen this before, let alone on a 2005 Infiniti. Anyone else have this problem? Any known fixes?

Thanks a lot guys

like the needle will not travel smoothly; the motion is choppy, the needle will kind of "stutter", especially past like 4k rpms. It is not a smooth motion. Like i said this is only the tach needle, the mph needle is normal. Once at the dealer i testdrive an fx35 and it suffered from teh same issue, so i'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

i hope its just the tach needle and its choppy motion isnt indicative of the way the engine is running. The nearest dealer is an hour away, i dont know if i care enough to go get it checked; you guys think it could be something serious?

If it's just the tach needle acting up, it might be just a nuisance. However, as mentioned, if it is a reflection of how the engine is operating, I would definitely take it in and have it looked at.

Either way, I believe the tach needle should move smoothly. Your ride is new. Have it checked out.

yeah its definitely annoying, as far as i can tell, the engine seems to be performing just fine but i'm gonna get this issue looked at because it shoudlnt happen on an 05 with 3k miles.

Smooth here. Only about 2400 miles though.
