Just purchased Hawk HPS pads for front and rear, 185 shipped! I still need to pull off the front wheels and check the rotors, once again DOES ANYONE KNOW MIN REMAINING ON ROTORS TO TURN/REPLACE??? I've just read through hundreds of threads and could not find it. Thanks!!!

My G35 coupe has 30,000 miles on it. I was told by dealer that pads and rotors will need to be replaced in about 5-7000 miles for a parts price of over $2,600.00. This is really pricie - has others found the price cheaper in aftermarket, and what was the price you found. I think $2,600. for pads/rotors in only 35,000 miles is rediculous.

Well first of all there adding in OEM parts which are expensive. If you do need to replace the rotors, front and rear should go for about under $800 for aftermarket. Like everyone does go aftermarket for the pads HAWK, Greenstuff, etc. and its much cheaper. maybe under $200 for the brake pads.

I personally don't believe your rotors need to be replaced just the pads. You can even take the rotor to some place to get it turned. Just call around asking.

Your mostly paying for the OEM and labor when it really doesn't take that long.

Good luck!

Help, guys?? Thanks!
if you need to refinish the rotors why not just do your own brake job? autozone, kragen, and pepboys will gladly do the rotors for you, just bring them in... go order some pads online or buy dealer pads (sometimes the better way to go) iono about brembos
