Also in the 05, when the seat slides back and you push the backrest back, it goes to its original position, where in the 04's the backrest stopped at the first notch, and you had to reset the back positioning. This is all IMO.

I agree with you Mike. I flip the seat forward often just to grab a few items in the back seat. If I had to wait for the slow-**** seat to move forward and back I think I'd go nuts. Besides, if you need the seat to slide forward to get people in the back often, maybe a 4 door would've been a better idea? Anyway, IMO.

I'm confused. So on the 04's the seat back does not flip forward before the seat slides all the way to the forward position?

I mean, you could still flip the seat back then while the seat is moving just reach back tehre and get whatever you need right?

I see what you're saying. Pre-'05s you'll flip the seatback forward and the entire seat begins to slide forward (This you may not need and is unnecessary wear on the motor). As you get your items from the backseat, the seat has now slid forward. You could then flip the seatback to the upright position and it will click to the first position while the seat begins to motor back once again (of course you could be walking away by this time). When you hop back in your car, you readjust the seat to where you need it to be. Seems like some hassle when all you want to do is move the seatback forward (not the seat) to grab your gear.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter. I doubt the motor or leather rubbing will wear significantly during our ownership nor would the motor begin making that much additional noise. I just think the new button feature is a nice redesign to alleviate any unnecessary forward/backward movement of the seat.

The beamer way is ok. But when people get in my back seat, I hear "ooo's and ah's" when they see the seat automatically move.

I think people b1tch about getting out of the backseat cause it's low to the gound, especially in my car.
