I JUST GOT G"D UP!!
wutup all, i just got my new 05 g35 coupe today. I was going to the dealership thinking I was going to buy the 6mt in ivory pearl/wheat, and I was set on a 6mt this whole time thinking an automatic is a waste of this car. So, I test drove the 6mt coupe, and I really had some fun and it was exhilrating, however I really couldnt get past the nasty colored dash and color coordination. So then I test drove a diamond graphite/stone coupe in an automatic, and I fell in love with the interior and outside color as well. The ivory pearl/wheat was the only 6mt they had so it was either that or the automatics. The dealership was closing and my decision had to be made as I was supposed to bring home a car tonight. There was so much pressure I didnt know what to do. So finally, I decided on the auto, and I drove home really disappointed about the fact that it was an auto, but I still think I love this car. I hope I did the right thing, picking the one that I did. With all that said i will be enjoying my new G, and I cant stop looking at it. What do yall think?

Can't you return it within a certain period of time The only thing to consider is that even if your dealer is the only one in your area, they could have gotten any coupe from any other dealer in your state delivered to their dealership and sold it to you. It would have just taken a week or two to locate and transport it.. I guess they failed to inform you of that option.
You can't go wrong with either the stick or auto, but my point is if you're paying close to $40k for a car you shouldn't settle for less than what you want. Either way, congrats and enjoy her

What was so urgent that you just HAD to come home with a G that night? You probably would have been better off had you went home to "sleep over it". Guaranteed you would have waken up with the right choice. I'm not saying you made a wrong choice as to each his own, but decision made under pressure are usually bad ones.
but nonetheless, congrats on your new ride

I also wanted the Ivory Pearl when I was ready to purchase. There were only two colors I liked, the Ivory Pearl and the Athens Blue.
Silver/gray is boring to me, red is notorious for fading and attracts cops like moths to the flame, black is nice but it seems EVERYONE gets black plus the next door neighbor has it. If Infiniti didn't get rid of the Ivory/Black combo I would definately have gotten that.
I went in with the intention of seeing the Ivory Pearl with Stone Leather. The Infiniti website shows Stone as a gray color and I was hoping it was lighter like silver. But I was disappointed to find that the Stone interior had tinges of tan and in all essences looks like a lighter Wheat to me. Which I find repulsive, sorry but I can't stand any form of tan/brown interior. So onto the Athens it was. I actually am very happy because no one within 50 miles has this color and the Graphite interior is just beautiful.
As for the AT, I could go either way. I have to many audio/visual distractions that I don't know if adding a MT to the mix would be safe. Haha.
P.S. There is NO "cooling off" period on new vehicles. At least not in Cali. Once you drive it off the lot, it's yours. Legally the dealership can buy it back, but they won't because it can no longer be sold as a NEW car. Trust me, I know this from experience.

I was in a similar situation. I'm not sure if you had a good reason to be in such a hurry, but my impatience got the best of me. I have an '03 5AT and got it when they were near impossible to find. I ended up with Desert Platinum. There were a set of options that I had to have and that was everything except nav. Now, they had none with what I wanted coming in and it would have taken 3 months to get what I wanted. However, there was ONE on the lot with everything I wanted but it was not my 1st color choice and it was a 5AT. Now the color I'm satisfied with it as it hardly ever shows dirt, which is a nice thing to have . As far as the tranny is concerned, there are times that i just want to rip through the gears, but realistically, as a daily driver, the 5AT is more practical, especially in traffic which there is alot of around here. (Orlando, by UCF) Anyways, unless you had a HUGE fixation with getting the 6MT then I think you will be satisfied with your decision. If not right away, then when you are in rush hour.
