For those who put a spoiler on after purchase (stock)

Does/will the third brake light come out without looking funny? I'm getting my spoiler put on tomorrow at the dealership and since the car didn't have it originally I'm wondering if I can have them take it out (or do it myself) without leaving a hole or something else funny looking on the rear deck. There will obviously be no need for it as the spoiler has the brake lights built in.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, its very easy to take off. It just pops off, no screws or anything just a couple thin cardboard type tabs, I just used a screwdriver to pop it off very little force needed. You will however have a few holes there in the deck after removing it, you can unplug it and leave it there, then it wont llok as bad.

Thanks. Does it just pop up or sideways or something? I plan on getting tint soon so maybe it won't stand out so much after that? I guess if its that easy I'll take it off and see what I think, if I don't like it I can always put it back on.

I left it on, and the dealer left the light connected. It honestly does not look that bad.

I always remove the 3rd deck light when wiping down my rear window on the inside.
You just push it towards the glass (i think it was) and you can pull up. If it doesn't
pull it towards you and pull up.

I recommend the deck light be disconnected... it just looks bad imho to have both
spoiler light and deck light both light up.

If I was to do it, I would get some black EZ Felt from a art supply store (Michaels)
and cut to shape, hotmelt it onto the deck. I did that on my previous car and
it looked factory finish.

If I was going to pay a dealer to paint and install a new spoiler, I'd just have him install a new deck lid too.

Well, the car was on the lot, I got a good deal and he 'threw in' the spoiler for the sale. I think they get them prepainted anyway, who knows. Not worried enough about it to replace the rear deck, unless he'll throw that in too!

Thanks for all the responses!!
