was screwing around in a parking lot....bad?
Hey guys,
Well it was raining pretty hard today for the first time since i got the 05 6MT. I though "hmm this could be fun," so i went to a big empty freshly paved parking lot and had a little fun. I didnt do any launches or screw around with the clutch too much, but i had it in first gear a lot and did some turns and fishtailed, did a couple donuts and what not. The parking lot was completely covered in rain, and it was about 60 degrees out. As much as I fishtailed and spun around, i only heard the tires screech a few times.
I started thinking, could this be bad for the car? I was fully engaged in a gear most of the time (a couple times i shifted to second in a spin, and shifted from second to first going into a turn which led to a couple spins and ended up rolling backwards with clutch in). But was just wondering if this is extremely bad for the car.
Anyone else done this? Any effects?
I LOVE the tires on the 19's, kept traction very well. Was an awesome time, and will try to get the video working.
Cliffnotes:
Was doing donuts and fishtails with minimal clutch work. Tires squeeled couple times, nothing major. With the luubricated parking lot, will this flex the car? (Car is bone stock)
Thanks a lot for the input!

Do you think I burned that much rubber with all the water on the parking lot? I was thinking the tires wouldnt lose to much extra tred, since they wouldnt really be smoking and heating up.

Was bad???? nooooooo, you got to learn the limits of your ride somewhere safe, so a vacant parking lot is a good spot, and it doesn't sound like you beat on the g too much at all. No worries, and with the "lubricated parking lot", it won't have stressed the G much.
Enjoy your ride.

I thought so too when I was rocking my older car out of a snow draft
only to smell smokin tires.
