7500 Mile Service $220????

With synthetic (Mobil 1) I know it is played out with the service questions but I plan on keeping the car and I'm hoping they actually do something instead of "inspecting" things! I just want to cover my azz in case something happens in the long run I don't want not having the car serviced to be a factor. Any thoughts? By the way it would be $170 with regular oil.

The 7,500 mile Service on the coupe amounts only to an oil change......you cannot rotate the tires like on the sedan, and the other things that the service would involve are inspections of fluids, which you can do yourself. Just go in and have them perform a $50 oil change.

I dont really understand what the deal is. $220 for what? All 7500 miles is is an oil change, nothing else. And $170 for regular oil? What dealer is this? Infiniti doesen't reccomend Synthetic oil anyway, so any dealer that uses that I wouldnt trust anyway. What is the outrageous price for?

I wasn't sure what that includes cuz I haven't looked at the book yet. I never heard that Infiniti doesn't recommend synthetic. Is that in the book?

highway robbery. Infiniti is really giving themselves a bad rep with this stuff. It's going to hurt them *badly* in the long run. BMW ended up having to throw in basic maintenance to shake their cost of ownership stigma. Looks like ICA is happy to fill the gap that BMW left.

To their credit, my local dealer and Grubbs were totally upfront about the 7500 and 15000 service. At 15k, they offered ala carte service. However, the pricing structure was printing in their service flyer, as per Infiniti I guess. So, if you *wanted* to spend the money, they would take it. But again, they never let on like I needed those inspections and alluded that they just do it anyway while its on the lift.

That's right... those 7500K service things are just another fancy name for oil change... Don't they already top out all your fluids for you anyways at every oil change...

I actually asked for the 7,500 mile "premium" service, and the dealer told me that I only needed an oil change. Cost me about $35.

Just do the oil change. Most inpsections before 15k on these modern cars are
pretty much useless imho other than just keeping an eye on the fluid
levels and check your tire pressures/wear. just the basics.
