thinkin' about first mods...
...k fellas (and ladies), here it is....my 05 coupe 6m/t is about 3 months old now, and it time for a mod or two...I'm thinkin' about some type of intake mod (z tube..K&N...or whatever else is out there...and what the hell is a plenum)...I'd appreciate some feedback on where to start and links to any I'm sure previously discussed posts on the above...and for all u flamers out there, be easy...it's not that I'm not mechanically inclined (I'm an airline pilot), but I just don't have the time to research from scratch like I did when I was 21...and I've got a sharp tongue my damn self...k that said...any help would be appreciated...also, I live in central fl...anyone affiliated with any groups in that area, hit me up...
The Z-tube is a no brainer. As for the filter, I'd say most of the people here go with the JWT Pop Charger or the K&N panel filter. I went with the K&N since it was really cheap and my engine bay still looks stock which will hopefully prevent issues when taking the car to the dealer. In actuality, intake/exhausts for this car provide minimal gains, so I personally can't see spending big bucks for that kind of stuff. If you really want to mod, you pretty much have to go FI. Anyway, thats my $.02. Good luck with the G.
hayaku is right. with the small power mods out there, u will see minimal gains. personally i would focus on small cosmetic stuff(sidemarkers etc) and suspension(swaybays etc) first. just get small things and if you decide to go FI you can because you didnt blow a bunch of money on npt so beneficial mods. $.02
The CFL chapter of the Florida G35 Club will welcome you with open arms.. those guys meet like every week so feel free to join them!

And yes the guys are right, don't go wasting your money on useless bolt-ons. Invest in a bike or a twin turbo kit if you need speed.. this car looks great, drives great, you can make it a lil louder and meaner with a few mods here and there but that's about it
