i have no problems switching it off everytime i feel the urge, but to each his own i guess.
It's the delay man... Let's say you really want to go fast and your driving a 6MT, so you ned to drop 2-3 gears and go like hell... The VDC on will not let you get the power, you have to wait and the car will accellerate when it damn well feels like it, not like you need it in that instant and sometimes you do not have time to hit the button, so just leave the ********** off untill the weather is bad... With the VDC off the car will go like hell in an instant; that is why we leave it off. (NOTE: for experienced RWD drivers only!)

PS. it does not seem to affect the 5AT as much as the 6MT.

Anyone else notice it's a little harder to start normally from a stop when the VDC is on? I'm not talking a launch, but normal takeoff. It seems easier to stall to me, requiring a little more gas and a little more clutch slip. It's nothing drastic. It might only seem like a 1/3 or 1/2 the draw of the A/C, but it's enough for me to realize that I forgot to turn the VDC off.

And I tend to drive without the A/C most of the time to keep that bit of power, so the VDC being on is noticeable to me.

VDC on AWD model

I have a G35x and i've noticed that the acceleration is smoother with the VDC off. It seems like there is a slight delay when I first press the gas (when the VDC is on) and even though i'm trying to start out slowly, since nothing happens i instinctively press a little harder and before I know it the car is zooming.

When I turn the VDC off, the response is more immediate and smoother so i don't end up pressing the gas pedal too much and gunning it.

This seems counter-intuitive for what the feature was designed for, but then again, this was probably more in mind for the rear wheel drive models. Since the AWD is pretty hard to lose control of the VDC isn't needed as much (or at all).

Thanks for the link, i think i'll get the module so i can have it always set to off and enjoy a more comfortable ride

I've always wondered how it feels like bumping a 7 year old thread?
How is it?
