Just picked up my coupe

It has a black exterior with stone leather. I thought long and hard about black, but there's nothing like it when it's polished.

My two former cars were a 993 and an M3. They were both fine cars but extremely expensive, especially the Porsche. This time around I shopped BMWs, Audis, and a 997. I ruled out the 997 because of price and the persistent RMS problem that even plagues 997s. I don't like the front grille on the new Audis and the BMWs are just too expensive for what they offer. Also, I'm not too fond of the roof warts on the BMWS, and since the 330 I liked cost $10K more than the G35, my choice was easy.

So far my G35 coupe has been everything I hoped for and then some. Great performance, great looks, outstanding quality, and an unbelievable price.

I've owned Infinitis in the past and the service at my local dealership is A+. I'm happy that I found this Board and look forward to learning more about the G35 from the vets on this Board.

My wife and I just did the same thng but we didnt shop Porsche's we looked at the Volvo s60 R. The s60 r was in the front until we drove the g35. for 8000 less we were sold. I really liked the 06' 330 but again for the price i got more car with the G.

I havnt had any regrets yet =)

Congrats on your new car!

PDX_ G35 -Thanks. I really like Porsches, but man the depreciation on those cars is brutual. The journals all say that Porsches retain their value well, but that hasn't been my experience. Anyone who buys a $90K 997 will be lucky if he gets $60K for his car in three years and thats assuming he keeps the miles way down and sells it himself. He'll be lucky to get $50K from a dealer.

congrats on your car, Im getting mine next week. Just curious what kind of problems your 993 had. Porsches are bad*ss no matter what though, specially the turbo/gt2.

Grats! I just got my G35 on Friday. I looked at BMW also (M3 and 330ci) and also couldn't justify the price difference over the G35.

andy2434, AVJunkie - Thanks for the welcome. Look forward to reading your posts.

At work today I parled my car next to a BMW 540. I couldn't believe how boring the BMW looked next to the G35. I had the pleasure of driving a couple of 540s and they are outstanding sedans, but the 545s are now selling in the low $60s and they just aren't very attractive IMO.

IMO the G35 is the one of the best looking coupes made today regardless of price. If the identical car were made by BMW, it would cost $50K and people would still say it's a great buy..

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the site

You're a perfect example of what Infiniti is trying to do; ppl looking at 330i's and saying to themselves "for 10k more? is it worth it?"

Talking Picked mine up last week

Howdy, new guy here and I picked up mine last week (7/13)
6MT/Diamond Graphite over Stone/Aero/splash guards.
700 miles on the odo, waiting for 1200 so I can bump up the
'rev' light past 4 grand .
Hey, FAST1, I shopped the 330 as well, 42 large for what I got
on the coupe at $500 over invoice, was a no brainer.
I have a P car as well, though a lowlier one than yours (87 944 Turbo),
after getting the G, I think it's days are numbered.
Glad to be here, Rob at ProForm in E.C., MD suggested the site;
he'll be doing paint protection for me next week (I hope).
I got to say that Nissan has come a long way since my 71 510 !
