If you want less problem car than the G, don't even think about getting the used 330i. That thing breaks every other week I heard. Why don't you go for Lexus IS. I think Lexus is very practical in terms of realiability. But I have to say that 99 Prelude was the best car I've owned so far. Let's see if my new G coupe will beat that.

I have to agree with you bud, the cars ergonomics are driving me crazy, the F^&*&* seat are slanted towards the doors, the steering wheel is angled towards the door, the right bolster is bigger then the left (Vice versa on the sasenger side...) causing you to feel crooked when you drive the dam seat adjustments, lets not even get into those....

3 weeks with the car and all I find myself doing is changing seating positions, moving around, trying to find the correct position for my hand on the wheel and looking for solutions on this board... All I see is pages and pages of people complaning and no answers... Dammit...

The STi is a hell of a car, I see people on here talking about how the build quality is questionable.. I had a wrx for three years and totally beat the crap out of it, took it in the mud numerous times and had alot of fun on gravel roads and even tracked it a few times. I never had to take it in for any type of warranty work and nothing on the car ever broke. The transmission problems that people hear about is because most morons don't know how to launch an AWD car and they drop the clutch and wonder why stuff breaks. Too much shock on the tranny from all of the traction. The STi also has a much better transmission than the regular wrx. But yeah, it depends on if you are looking for luxury or for more speed and fun in a car. The STi definitely isn't luxurious but it is fun as hell to drive and priced very reasonable for what you get. The STi is also very easy to mod and get a ton of power for not alot of $$$$.

How about a ....... JACKASS?

No chance for engine problems, mechanical failures, tire wear, rattles, doesn't use gas, no need for oil change, and will double as a companion if you don't have any friends or mates.

about the seats, i drove 6 hours straight from norcal to orange county and i thought the coupe seats were the most comfortable car seats i've EVER sat in. usually, after a few hours of driving, my back would be killing me....not the case with the g35 seats. i truly believe it really depends on the person--their height, size, etc. as far as the interior, it's not the best in luxury out there, but it serves its purpose and is a bit refined. it's not to the standards of a lexus, bmw, or mercedes, but it's not in those pricepoints either.

as others have mentioned, NO car will be perfect. there will be kinks and minor defects/flaws. look in ANY auto forum and there will be complaints.

complaints

Funny, my cousin with a 2001 BMW 540 6MT noticed his tires wore unevenly and BMW just made him pay almost $1,000 to change a tie rod and another little thing. He complaints about his sound system, gear box, and many other things. He had his tranny, clutch and navi replaced among some other things that went bad on him.
This just to show that every car could be bad. As a matter of fact, he admitted to me many times that my G35 has a 100 times better sound system, better looking leather and more attractive interior not even mentioning the navigation system.

I'd choose the 330 over the STi.
I've got two neighbors and one has an Sti and the other a 330.

IMO, the interior of the Suby is ugly and cheap.

BTW, I'm glad you don't live near me. Don't mean to preach but I hate azzholes who drive like this in the winter.

It all depends on what the guy wants...Luxury or performance. Obviously the STi isn't going to have a really nice interior because that is not what the car is made for.
