helll yeahh thats what ive been tryin to tell people, what suspension system did you have on?.
check my former baby out http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/605797
I also had a prelude(2001). I loved that car, but I also got rid of it pretty quickly due to the wanting of a G. Man did everyone on this board use to own a prelude as their previous car?! By the way why don't you wait for the EVO 9, I believe it is coming out in 06...
I guess it depends...STI is ***** out fast and the styling is arguable but I've heard that the warranties aren't that great...the 330 is beautiful and quick but in the long run, maintenance on a beemer will be pricey...
2005/06 GTO. $34k on window. Made down under, not a Pontaic but a Holden. Staple car for GM Australia for many years. It is like a G with a 400hp Corvette drivetrain installed. Oh, the seats are very comfortable and the seat belt doesn't rub.

Just for a damn opinion and that seems hard to get these days..I mean, once you sift through the 80% of the board who knows NOTHING about cars except for the fact that their G35 has 18" wheels and 280 hp and the other 10% who make stupid comments?
Ah well..Any reasonable people on this board that have something to say?

I trust you will ultimately enjoy whatever vehicle it is that you may eventually decide on. Good luck with your query.

BEST CHOICE = keep g35
STI = performance, awd, looks wise, interior need upgrade and the ricer look is not something that everyone can appreciate
330 = looks good to most ppl, seducing women (bmw is more popular), more leather color options and performace similar to G35 BUT just as many problems
beside G35, looks & performance > 40000 CAN
G35 is a bang for ur bux

Hey,
I'll try and answer this as best as possible:
A lot of what you should get depends on your desires:
If you are comparing the 330i to the STI they are very different animals. I used to drive a 2003 3.5SE Altima 5-speed, so I can shed some light on the difference in engines between the BMW and the VQ35DE engine, and a few other things, but I have never driven a G35 Coupe. I have driven a 350Z though, so I know a little bit about that too. Currently I drive a 2004 330i M performance package sedan with a 6-speed manual.
Comparatively, the 330i M54 engine has less low end torque than the VQ. Whereas the VQ torque started to really hit just under 2,000 RPM, the M54 hits around 2,500 RPM, and it never feels as fast as the VQ. Alternatively, the M54 revs a lot nicer past 6,000 RPM and the power delivery is smoother. It doesn't have that explosion at 4,000 RPM like the VQ does, but it just keeps on revving and revving until you hit the rev limiter, whereas the VQ feels breathless past 6,000 RPM (IMHO). On the street, you may not notice a difference in how fast the speed rises compared to the G, but on the highway the G is a bit more powerful. My Altima used to be able to pretty much out accelerate any 3-series (outside of the M3) on the highway. The BMW definitely has more CONSISTENT throttle responses. That could have been a characteristic of the Altima, but sometimes I remember nailing the Altima and being a bit underwhelmed, and other times being impressed, whereas the Bimmer doesn't do that.
The 330i has an excellent transmission, and the tranny is easily shifted quickly, regardless of the speed, where the Nissan/Infiniti tranny can be a bit notchy when you are pushing it. Clutch take up is smooth and consistent, and low speed driving in first or second is a lot less jerky.
In other aspects, the BMW is built like a tank. It feels solid, and the paint is really good quality, and seems very thick. I know my old Crystal Blue Altima had the same paint as the G35, and the paint on that car was very thin and scratch-prone. The BMW doesn't have this issue. Interior build assembly and materials on the BMW are great. There are no hard plastics any where and the interior is nicely screwed together.
The BMW will absolutely need winter tires. But with the DSC engaged, winter driving is quite easy. I recommend the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2s. I had those on my Altima and they rocked. The Pirelli Wintersport is popular, but a cut below the Pilot PA2(make sure they are PA2s) in winter grip and noise.
If you're worried about reliability and warranty, get an extended warranty. If you can get a gold certified used one from a dealership they extend the warranty to 6/120k.
Concerning the STI, I love that car too, shame about the look though. Subarus are tough and the performance on that car is M3 class. You may go through brakes more often than a BMW, but in some ways, if you want a more raw, less refined vehicle, the STI is tough to beat. Additionally, while the BMW might use about the same amount of gas as the G35 (yes, that's right), the STI will use more unless you consistently drive under turbo engagement range. But then, what is the point? Ride quality between an STI and 330i M package is pretty much the same. I don't care what any BMW fanatics say, the ride quality with the 18" rims is pretty rough.
Hope that helps,
Good luck,

my prelude setup was koni yellow, eibach prokit, 17 volk ce28n broze, toyo t1-s, and so much more...
first i was going N/A with aem CAI with DC headers, Tanabe G Power Medalion, straight piped, and blah blah.... and later down the line i made my own turbo setup. i had so much fun with this car i will never, ever forget my H22A... arrg....
Thanks to those of you who actually helped with the questions....Get a life? You are telling me to get a life? When someone is on this board for an hour or so a day..isnt that pathetic? This board sucks anyway.,it used to be decent...I think there is a direct correlation between paying for a forum and it being garbage and full of tools.
Anyway.. I am going to keep her, get new tires + alignment and put in some Sparcos..
