Question Brake cooling ducts?

I know I've seen them on a coupe before, but a search turns up nothing.

Has anyone here made use of our stock front bumpers and put in some brake cooling ducts? I would really like to do this mod, so pics would be awesome...thanks!

Also, how did you do it? Did you run underneath, or drill through?

this will work but you need to decide where the air will blow into the wheel. Possibly right at the caliper!

Very cool, thanks!

What kind of cutting/drilling/etc did you have to do for that setup?

You'll need to remove some gray foam from behind the bumper cover & then cut a hole in the plastic wheelwell liner. I used black zip ties to hold the duct in place. Be careful where you direct the air flow. You'll want to avoid the rotor itself. Since you can't "hit" both sides of the rotor with the air flow, to get even cooling. You'll end up warping the rotor. When the inside cools faster than the outside. That's why I'd reccommend the caliper itself. Try and get the air flow going over the top & around the whloe thing. Race cars will just direct the air flow wherever they need it, but then they simply replace parts at the end of the race.
I bought the clear plastic duct on eBay($12) & bought dryer duct from Home Depot. Painted it flat black.

Nice, I was worried there would be something other than foam I would have to cut through (besides the wheel well liner of course)

And thanks for the tips, guess I hadn't considered the "one side cooling faster" problem

Planning on doing some serious braking?

That gray styrofoam you removed is part of your bumper - shock absorption.
