Here's what it comes down to:

Who do you know?

How much money have you put into the car?

Basically that's it. It doesn't matter if the car is ridiculously overdone, if you put 100K or whatever into it, u'll win. Also it's very political from what I understand so ya gotta blow...i mean know the right people.

I'll ask a friend who has done it before what the look for and see what they say.

basically there is points for different categories. usually along the lines of uniqueness, how clean the cars is, ICE, display, engine, performance, etc. if you don't have a little of everything, you won't score well. display is an easy way to get extra points since most people don't have a display. set up something around your car and you can gain some extra points.

who you know also is a big factor, or was, since i believe they are working hard to try to change that and make it really about the points.

I was a NCCA Judge last year. There is an extremly thorough judging sheet that is followed through. Some key elements are to make sure your modifications are installed with no corners cut, quality of aftermarket parts are the very best, your display is complete, and there are others. Its tough competion out there, trust me, but everyone has a fair chance. And despite what you think, it doesn't matter who you know, or how much money gets put into the car!!

This is sooo fuggin true! I did shows for about three years. I finally just gave up. If someone is there with a team and the team is big your fugged. Plus I think in other states they are more lax. I remember a guy on here that posted a G, he had lambo doors and a few other mods. He got first place. In cali he wouldnt have even placed!

You also have to remember that our G's are in the same class as the Z's in that show.
