Wow only one Supra on the board so far.

ME:

97/98 Supra TT. 96's had formula 1 paddle shifters so that was out. Wanted low miles (40 to 50k). Wasn't quite ready to pay upwards of 40k for a used 90's car.

350 Z. Test drove and got it to 140 first time ever driving it.. (car salesman in the passenger seat almost lost it). Expected more power intially. No back seats, and I'm single.

Evo 8. Took a quick look. Dealer wouldn't allow test drives in my area. Plus styling wasn't there.

G35 was not even on the list until I went to the dealership and saw the 05 sports tuned package. Read about a TT G35 conversion.. and was even more interested.

At this point FI or not.. I love the styling and am happy with the power. Very good balance of performance and styling.

i dont have my G yet, so im in the same boat as u. i have considered 350z, M3, and G35 coup 6m. altho a C6 would be nice but thats outta my budget and well, everything for now.

im leaning towards the G more than anything rigtnow for all the good reasons people have listed.

M3, well, i love this car. friend has one and driven it many times. love it..just plain sex ..lol. one thing i want to say is that this car is def. NOT overpriced. people pay over 110K for this car in Asia (where i am working rightnow). a Z or G is about 50k or so US dollar here. so i def. think the M3 is worth the money. sure its a little outdated, but the new one is coming out with a V8 ..droool! so why do i not get it? well, it is still too expensive for me (however, i dont expect the benchmark of all sports sedan/coup to be priced at 35k or 40k. please, its a M3, not an Accord). besides the higher price of the car, the insurance and maintance will be little too much for me at this stage of my life. but trust me, i'll own one of these babes in the near future.

one thing i dont get is that when peeps complain how expensive bmws are, how come they dont think how wayy over priced bez and porches are? or ferraris? but if i got the dough, i wont care! some cars are targeted for those with some $$. thats why they have cars like G or Z for us who do not have or do not want to spend as much but get somewhat similar performance or quality. i think the normal 3 series are sure a lil pricy, but the M3 is def. worth the $$. its NOT for everyone, unlike how the G and Z is everywhere now.

as for the Z..loved it ever since it first came out. but the cheapness in the interior, lack of back seat, and the endless problems i have heard...really push me away from it.

now with the G... it sure is the best bang for the buck. dont flame me but i call it the cheapman's m3 just like how they call the vett a cheapman's ferrari!
but eitherway, i love the G's looks and everything about it. the only down side to it is how difficult it is to make it go faster. takes too much cash compare to some american cars or cars with factory TT. but then again, its just like bmw..which is even harder to modified and wayy too expensive to mod it.

350Z -> Cheap looking interior. Seems too impractical (no rear seat whatsoever, no usable trunk space)
RX-8 -> Cheap looking interior. Having owned a 2nd gen RX-7 was looking fwd to the RX-8. Was disapointed though.
Volvo S40 -> Already own an 02 A4 that the wife drives. Did not want another sedan.
STi -> Awesome machine, however IMO G35C is much better looking plus gives you those added luxury touches.

WRX
WRX STi
Mazdaspeed Miata - Small, but sh!tloads of fun!
350Z - No back seat, blindspots are HORRIBLE, interior feels a bit cheap

As a recommendation, what about a G35X? They are great cars, it has four doors, so it'll fit the baby seat. They look really good for '05 (nothing against the '03s and '04s).

test drove: 330Ci, RX-8, S2000, WRX, 350Z, then G35, all manual tranny

i was set on the 330Ci until i saw the G35.

RX-8 has no low end torque and i didnt like the interior styling. handles like its on rails, but was just not nearly as nice inside as the 330Ci.

S2000 is an absolute RIOT to drive but is completely impractical for daily commute.

WRX is fun but i just think theyre ugly and have no interior luxury. it would be nice to have in winter though.

350Z is a GREAT car but again a bit impractical - no back seat. plus there are a lot of them on the road in my area.

once i got into the G35 and found it had just as much speed, torque, luxurious interior, and better suspension (IMO) than 330Ci, i went with it and have not looked back one iota. it turns more heads than any of the other cars i test drove.

330Ci - great car, but a bit over my budget

TL - navi system is f'ing awesome... with voice command... but the front-wheel drive makes me angry

RSX Type-S - not so great interior... no navi! =OOO...

RX-8 - the tiny doors just totally turned me off... not even a "true coupe"... whtever that means.

MB C230 Kompressor Sedan - small ... very small... interior was pretty awesome, but the performance just blowed

And then... I got into the G35c... heard the engine turn on... and fell in love. =) And our fobby navigation voice
