Trade 2005 Auto for 2003 6MT?

Hi all.

I have a serious dilema on my hands. I own a 2005 5AT Coupe (non-premium package; the only option is the 18" performance tire & wheel package), and have for a little over a month now. I have come to the realization that I want a 6MT. Not only that, but I want a sunroof!

My local dealer has a 2003 6MT LOADED - Navigation, premium, spoiler (front & rear), with only 16,500 miles on it. My 2005 has 2,500 miles on it.

They are willing to take my '05 in plus $1,000 for the '03. Keep in mind the '03 was about a $40,000 car when new and my '05 is a $33,600 car.

What do you think of this deal?

It is used, but it was used by a 60+ year old woman as her "weekend car." It still has over 40,000 miles of the factory warranty on it... any problems should show themselves within that timeframe!

Sell your car privately and get a new 6mt with premium. If you get the 03, you might decide all of a sudden that you don't like the interior or the 03 clutch is too heavy.

Dude, don't believe when they tell you that.......I can almost guarantee a 60yo woman did not own that car, mabye she co-signed for her grandson.

I know it could be BS, but what grandson only puts 16,500 miles on a car in two years? The idea that it was someone's weekend car does make sense for that kind of mileage - and I don't know any kids with weekend cars. Last week I actually saw a 50+ year old woman driving a red G35 Coupe with Brembos (meaning 6MT)... so it IS possible they aren't BSing me.

The only women that I have seen driving G's with Brembos all looked 35+. So I believe it. The question is whether the 03 is you best bet financially, or is there anything else you can do.

Just think about it. i feel sorry for the person who buys my car ..
Plus i like knowin the fact that i'm the only one that banged or got lowenski in it

That is the OLDEST trick in the book, all used cars were driven by old granny's. What old granny is gonna be driving a fully loaded G coupe...STICK SHIFT?!!!!!!!!
But as long as you got warranties, why not?
Also, I might think it's a better deal, but straight up...no plus 1 g.

You really think the dealer would tap into the car's computerized odometer and reprogram it? Seems like a stretch for an Infiniti dealer to do.

Also, is this car certified pre-owned?
