Talking Common questions

What's up guys? I'm new to this forum and planning to get a 2006 G35 whenever it comes out, and I had a few questions that I was wondering if you guys could help me figure out:

1) is the Navi system really worth it for 2k?

2) Should I wait a while untill like Jan/Feb for prices for the G35 to go somewhat down?

3) Also, a friend of mine has a white 2003 G35 with brake dust issues (brake dust getting on the seats covers), was that problem with any previous owners?

Well that's it for now, your advice would be greatly appreciate...thanks guys

I cant answer the other 2 but for me, Navi was worth the money. Less of a hassle than going aftermarket...

having navi is a matter of personal preference. i like it, but i'm not gonna miss it because i ordered my g without. it does inlclude feul efficiency and trip computer.

the price 2006 on models wont' go down since they're just coming out. prices will be lower on the 2005's. the 6mt won't be out until jan

what seat covers? i've never heard of brake dust getting inside of any car.

I didn't spend 2k on stock nav. I bought IQue3600(PDA based) which cost me about 450 dollars. Although it doesn't look as nice as stock nav or those aftermarket ones that are installed nicely, it works just as good as or better than the stock nav.

1) YES it is. So many people regretted getting car w/o nav, but none that I know of regretted getting one.
2) Jan/Feb you wont get any price change... you'll only be able to get the 6MT by then.
3) 2003 had brembos so thats the thing, better brakes, more dust... BTW tell ur friend IP G35 = girly lol.

1) YES!
2) Not really.
3) Get carwash often. duh~
I think Stillen makes brake pads that supposedly makes much less break dust, but not sure how it is.

I agree about the WOW factor for the Nav. That's the first thing everyone notices when it comes out automatically. They're like "SWEET!!!" Plus its very useful if you like to take a lot of road trips, or like to learn new routes.

This was my first car with NAVI and I love it, don't think I could honestly live without it. No I don't used it everyday but when I need it, I find the NAVI very helpful esp. if your the type of person whom doesn't like to pull over and ask an stranger for directions. I have an '03 with Brembos and yes the brake dust is terrible but, I plan on doing different brake pads such as Hawks or Rotora to fix that problem.

If the 06 brakes are the same as the 05 you wont have any problems. If you do have problems the Hawk hps pads are fantastic.
