Coupe on Vacation
For those who read the articles:
My coupe has over 2000 miles on her and she's just had her 1 month birthday.
Took my baby up Hwy 101 through Pismo Beach, San Simeon Beach, curvy roads of Big Sur, and finally back home in the Bay Area.
For someone new to manual cars, travelling Hwy 1 was a quick lesson in downshifting to perform passing manuevers. The car handled extremely well through the curvy roads by Big Sur. Being as how this is also my first RWD, I didn't push her too hard around the twisties, but enough to get the blood moving.
This car can haul some serious ***. I would pass cars, look up, and they'd already be 1/4 of a mile behind me. This car also makes me realize why some freeway on-ramps are so short. With this much power and torque, this car does not need much runway to get up to speed.
Had one road kill during the trip. Poor little squirrel didn't see it coming.
Saw another DG coupe with Nevada plates on the way up. He honked as he drove by. Owning a coupe is fantastic. Saw a pretty nice black 2003.5 sedan and white 2003.5 sedan. None of the drivers even bothered to look up.
Even though this car may be fast, I was very quickly humbled by a black Supra. Couldn't tell what yr it was, but from the sound coming from the exhuast, this definitely was no stock Supra. Oh wells, can't win them all.
Hope you enjoy the pics.

Re: LOTS of PICS: DG Coupe on Vacation up Hwy 101
hello medoug: as right now my car has 246 miles, by next wednesday shuould have around 600 miles, i do it so early cause i was recommend by a coworker, he build his own motor and have been working for G.M. before for while, he says he change oil for an new engine at around 500, just to flash out some "shavings" and every 4-5 thousand miles for the regular useage, but he cahnges every 1500 miles cause he only drive his costom car for shows and weekneds, since oil has been in the car for 4-5 weeks maybe longer and i thought it wont hurt to change early.

change it at 1200 dude.....the G's engine's recommended break-in period is 1200 miles.
I waited till 1200 (it was more like 1400 because i had to wait 2 more days for appointment) and then put mobile1 synth 5w30 w/ new filter of course
