800 miles with service engine soon light?
So i'm supposed to be driving to vegas tomorrow from LA. Just today my MIL came on, it is a steady light, not blinking. From reading the manual, i am under the impression that it's not serious. Do you think i could get away with driving to vegas and back with this light on?
I have an appointment for the dealer first thing tomorrow, but i do need to leave around 2 o clock. I imagine they'll pull the codes and in the event that they will need to keep the car longer than past 2PM i am hoping that whatever it is can wait until i come back from vegas.
What do you guys think? What are the possibilities for a solid MIL? I've already checked the gas cap.
The car is a 05 6MT with 5000 miles on it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You could drive on it, shouldn't be any problems. Wait to see what codes they pull up. If it's an O2 sensor or something minor like that, go. If it's something like oil pump failure then don't. Just ask the SA and see what his opinion is. good luck in vegas. Make sure you turn your AC off every once in a while during your drive.

Also check your tire pressure before the trip. Driving at high speeds and at high temps will cause the pressure in the tires to increase and cause a blowout. I was coming back from vegas once in a 350z (it has tire gauge on the display) and I started at 34psi when I started the car, and was at 40psi after 45 miles. I stopped at a gas station and lowered the pressure to 35psi. You might want to check your tire pressure before you leave and maybe take it down 2 or 3 psi, to compensate for the pressure.
