Anyone else missing the 'upgrades' with all the hype. Who in their right mind would trade in an '05 for an '06 or spend the extra few Thousand for one. Projector headlights- cool. Amber turnsignals, you can keep them, Everything is the same on the inside.

And this report of a quieter than sedan exaust note. Give me a break.

'06 gets a big thumbs down from the Jtrain, Give me an '04-'05 anyday.

 

well we don't know about the exhaust note. I think it's a regulation in Taiwan, or the perception of the person listening. Yes the 06 is not out of this world, but a few creature comforts like bluetooth, intelligent key, smaller spoiler (hopefully) will make it worth to some people. I'm actually looking to swap my car, as my lease is running up soon. To each his own.

it seems to me that with every year the G is out, the more geared toward "older" generations it becomes. I mean come on, power tilt and seats that move back when you shut the car off should stay on a caddy deville. Im glad my chit dont move back when I get out of my car.. just my .02... i love my 03.5

 

I bet deep down inside all of us feel envy for all the 06 owners or any new model G's coming out, but we all find ways to convince us that its a peice of crap .. I hope its the ugliest thing ever ,


Jk, the projectors and clear turn signal is a big + , the abscense of a clearance light its a - , if the exhaust sound is true and same in the US then thats a big - , the memory seats, intell key / keyless entry , new front fascia and spoiler might be + ,,

I was going to wait for the 06, because i thought it was going to be waay better. But to tell you the truth, i would hate the amber turn signals; no regrets with my 05.

But yeah, in most cases the newer ones are always better, but i'm happy with my 05.

 

atleast Infiniti tries to move forward somehow. Instead of moving backwards! LOL!

 

Doesnt the '06 have an option of rear stearing like the previous GT-R?

 

Nah I'm happy for them and all the G owners- Now the 07 or 08 with the redesign (if it's hot) then I might be envious- but then I might be trading as well.

damn, too much hating, home dude was right, all the hate is just to make you feel better about your own G.... Be happy with what you have without shooting down the 06, if you want to hate a car, don't hate the same one you drive.

 

Rear steering? What the GT-R had was electric front wheel drive that turned on when the back ones started spinning during cornering (Started RWD then became 4WD). What the 06 is suppose to have is the same as the M45... the rear wheels turn a bit during hard cornering.

Dream on, as a 04 to 05 trader, I can confirm that I dont miss my 04 at all. The improoved interior center console more than makes up for the loss of brembos. Note how I only mentioned the interior change to be sufficient, I could name bigger NAV, better leather, electric seats, VLSD, better shift, smoother clutch, etc. As for the brembos, yeah they were a little better, but as I said before: BETTER BREMBO BRAKES CAN BE OBTAINED FROM BREMBO THEMSELVES (RED ONES) FOR MUCH LESS THAN IT WOULD TAKE AN 04 INTERIOR TO BE TRANSFORMED TO 05. As simple as that. Anyone who misses the brembos can get better brembo brakes and miss nothing from the 04.

That is exaclty right. People who got an 05 will tend to find flaws with the 06 (even without it being out!) just to convince themselves (and annoy others) that their 05 is supperior just as 04 owners bash on the brembo/carribeanblue crap. As I see it, the 06 will be better than the 05 no matter what. Even if the redesigned bumpers and spoiler is ugglier since they are not standard. What I mean is, you can get an 06 looking like an 05 plus the added headlights and bluetooth which would make an 06 better than an 05.

I rest my case.

 

I dont think the wheels turn at all. I think it is just some kind of automatic rear suspension adjustment during cornering.
