Yes a lower number means quicker steering. I think the 05s are 15.9:1, the same as the 06 without the Rear Active Steer package. If you get rear steer the steering is vehicle speed sensitive and the regular one is engine speed sensitive ( which makes no sense to me )

Yes the steering is quicker, but I thought I read that they were going to have that thing that BMWs have on the 7 series where if you are going fast, a 2 degree turn would turn the wheels less than a 2 degree turn going slow. This is something I would not be able to adjust.

The bmw steering has a range of ratios from like 19:1 to 13:1 or something in that vicinity. So it changes the steering speed depending on the speed of the car. I think the infiniti system has just one fixed steering ratio, 15.9:1 or 15.1:1 depending on the package, but it is speed sensitive, which i interpret as being more boosted in low speed thus requiring less effort to turn, and less boosted in higher speeds to give a weighted feel.

As long as the change is in effort and not in rotation's effect, I am fine with that. It just seems so dumb that BMW did that steering which made you steer more to get the same results that you would by steering less at low speed.
