Door handles peeling off

Both passanger and driver interior door handles on my G35C are peeling off. Here is what it looked like a month ago:

it is getting worse and worse and i don't know what to do about it.
Has this happened to anyone else? If so what did you do?
Is it by any chance warrenty covered? should i give it a shot next time i go to the dealer?

any help/advice will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I have the same thing happening but my scratches are not quite as bad as yours.......mine has occurred from my watch scratching the driver's side handle. This is a wear and tear occurance and would not be covered by warranty. I was going to replace mine with a new part instead of trying to paint them. I also was going to see if the '05 piece, which is made of aluminum, would fit on my '04. The metal piece might be more durable than the painted plastic.

05 piece looks like a completely different part, so won't fit.

just order a new one from your dealer. about $20 or so.
Mine had a scratch on it from the getgo, so just got a new one.

I might paint mine if it start to scuff off like that.

I have the same problem but it comes from my watch. Mine is actually worse than yours so don't feel bad.

mine was like that when i got the car ... from the previous owner she said it was from her ring .... and its been getting really worse and worse and what is werid is that pretty much no one ever rides with me but somehow the other one is starting to peel off a little bit too

i've got an appointment at the dealer on thursday morning so i will ask them how much it will cost to fix and then once they fix it what can they do to protect it from happenig again couz i'm sure it will ... that is some cheap paint

on another forum i read that they kind of put a clear sticker thing (kind of like the clear bra) on the handles to protect them from peeling ... couz apparently that is a very common occurance

one thing you can do is remove it, get some silver spray paint, sand, do a couple coats, then get some clear coat spray. that should prevent it from getting scratched up too easily. of course wet sanding it and polishing it will make it nice and shiny too. spray paint = $4. clear coat = $4-5.

Well, Nissan got it right...eventually...it just took a little time...the Aluminum piece should hold up a little longer...
