resonator removal
resonator removal
I posted a thread earlier asking "Is it worth it to mod a 05 6mt" and most of u guys said no, because there hasn't been enough R&D for the 05 engine. So know I'm asking this. I want a little more sound from my exhaust but dont want to spend the money if it's not going to give me any performance, so I was thinking If I removed my exhaust resonator will that increase my exhaust note, and will I lose any hp/tq? thanks

people are weird.... just use common sense when your moding.. if you get high flow cats (you have less restriction = more power), get headers (same thing), get a exhaust system (you have larger diameter piping and performance mufflers = more power). sry for the weird logic but now that u can shiet more u can eat more (intake).. other mods such as pullies, grounding kit, etc.. wont give you much performance.. everything in the exhaust and intake are just noise makers.. you'll gain like 10-15hp after u upgrade exhaust system and intake.. what really adds HP are superchargers, turbos, nitrous, and TUNING!! if i throw a bunch of tools at you and you've never seen any of it ur not gona be able to make the best outta it
If you don't want to spend any money in order to get performance, you're better off not doing anything.
In order to make NA power, you'd have to go (at the very least) intake, cam, exhaust, intake plenum, free-flow cats, headers, a chip (or an AF computer), and tuning. If you're really serious throw some ITBs in there and you're good to go. That would be my suggestion.
