Compared to the other vehicles, those are some of the worst times for a G35 manual I've seen. Not to mention a FWD TL getting .91 on the skidpad, but the G only manages .85?

Infiniti must of lowered their advertising budget for C&D this year.

That Volvo was a dog, too. Since when will a S60R only do a 6.4 for the 0-60? They must have lowered their budget as well.

Did they mention the as tested prices? I'm going to guess BMW = ~$41k, Lexus = ~$39k, Infiniti = ~$34k.

Just sayin'.

It says $35k sedan so I assumed it was around $35k. But of course the 330 was tested and god knows what you get for $35k on a 330...probably only a steering wheel with a driver's seat The Lexus is about as fast as the new GTO but handles better. I don't think it handles as well as the BMW or G35 due to the electronic nannies but don't play with the IS350 from a stop...

Hmm.. I wonder why the new IS350 is posted as 0-60 in 5.6 at Lexus's own site. http://thenewis.com/index.html

Edit: Car and Driver says 5.9. ??

I just looked at the lexus website as well. 306hp, and 277trq, and the 0-60 times that car makers predict are usually optimistic. Pretty close with the G, but the IS has a paddle shift auto. The car C&D got was probably a pre production ringer. It's kind of irrelevent to test a car that is not on the market and has no price tag. It seems like a pretty cool car though, and if they bring it in at 30k base, like the old IS, look out infiniti. At that price I would seriously consider this car, but I'm sure this car will come in around the new BMW 330 price, which is 38k.

You cannot get a 330 for 35k. The base price is 36,600 and there is another 700 in destination charges. So a base 330i will cost you at least 37k, if you can find one.

EDIT: It seems that the 330i tested had the sports package, so make that at least 38K if you can find it. But normally 330i with sports package on a dealer lot will be 40 k at least. And that Lexus is guaranteed to be at least 40k too.

I owned an '05 S60R for a few months (long story) and it was definitely much faster than that. I've driven a number of 330s and the S60R is easily faster. Unfortunately it doesn't handle as well or have the same road feel as the 330.

Wow. 5.1 for the Lexus. Impressive!

Only reason I might not consider the Lexus if I ever needed a new car in that price range (would go along with a coupe nicely) is it is a little "girly" looking.

Looking at those numbers, it seems that the IS350 should have won. I don't think the new IS350 looks that bad, but the new 3-series is fugly.

Yep - I know for a fact that an S60R is pretty much neck-and-neck with an 05 6MT sedan... ever so lightly slower, but not by much... probably about a car or so at 80 mph...

Wow , IS350 sounds like a monster with its price range. with quarter miles running 13.7 and 0-60 in 5.1, infiniti has some competition going on!

but still hands down our car looks the sexiest
