prob with the ac? help please!

either my ac controller is messed up or i have ghosts in the car. every time i drive more than 10 min, if i have the ac on recirculated (inside) air it switches to outside air on its own. it doesnt matter how many times i switch it back, it changes on its own to outside. this really sucks when i am on the highway with trucks, constructions, etc. anyone else have this happen? i keep getting the "we cant replicate it" bulls*** from the dealer.

Only time I get the ac going from recirculate to outair on it own is when i have it on manual. But when I leave it on auto, it stays at recirculate.

Mine does that when I first start it. Usually after I push the button to put it back on recirculate, it stays there.

Does that happen when you have it on auto and manual?

i always have it on manual, and never had the problem til about a month ago. it doesnt matter how many time i switch it back, it kicks back over (sometimes every few seconds).

i like the air to be really cold, but low fan speed so i keep it on manual. but like i said, it never did that for the first few months.

thanks for the ideas so far guys

are you changing the temperature? If you do, the a/c computer changes from recirculate to fresh air at a certain point.

mine won't let me use the a/c while using fresh air. whenever i press the a/c button, it automatically switches to recirculate.

you should be able to press the fresh air button and have it switch.

It will go to recirc at start (to cool more rapidly)
If you leave it alone it should go back to outside air after it cools down.

That's what I noticed. I never tried putin it on recirculate afterwards. I wouldn't be suprised if this is a safety feature, and recirc. cannot stay on longer than a specified period of time.
