Valet hit a wall with my 1 month old G!!!

Not a good start to my day!

Has anyone had experience with filing a claim for damage caused by a valet with a hotel?

I was attending a conference at a well known hotel chain...and somewhere along the line the valet scraped something concrete with the front driver's side part of the bumper. Its 6 inches long and 1 inch wide, with groves from whatever he hit.

I think the whole bumper will have to be replaced.

I just filed a claim this morning when I saw it, but the incident happened yesterday afternoon.

I guess I should have looked it over real good at the hotel when the driver said "Man I wish I could get this on the high way"...

Did you contact the hotel and let them know about this?

The hotel should cover the damage, no question. I can't believe the valet did that and didn't mention it to you when returning your car. Like he would get away without you noticing the damage!

Kick his a$$!

It was the Hyatt in Crystal City. I did not stay the night...my company had a conference.

I'm pretty sure there might be more than one guy Be careful who you go **** up.

If I valet, I just throw the guy a $20 for him to drive my car about 5 feet and keep it there. I used to take advantage of the free valet in Vegas a lot, tipping ~$5 or so, but I've found that the time/mental anguish saved by having them just keep my car at the front door is well worth a $20 bill.

That's what I do when I go clubbing out here in Hollywood. Only prob about doing that in vegas is that you end up driving to so many casinos. Do you plan on giving $20 for every hotel you stop by. After seeing the other thread on the black dude breaking into cars, I wouldn't trust my G' out there in the visitor parking lot. eek!

Well I have to wait up to 5 business days for their insurrance company to get intouch with me and let me know if my claim has been granted. Until then I have to look at this nasty scrape on my G

If I have any trouble does anyone in the National G club want to roll over there and help me take care of business???? lol

mbq62: It sounds like you're in!! haha. Did you have any valet trouble at the CC hyatt?

i was staying in a nice hotel in center city/philadelpia on business and used their valet service for my rental car. when i picked up my car, i noticed a huge dent on the side panel on the door. i immediately mention it to the attendant. the hotel staff came over and worked it all out with the valet company. when i returned the car, the rental place already knew about it and said it was all taken care of already. so, it really depends on the hotel and the valet service.

What makes me the most mad is that I will have to put a new bumper on the car when its brand new! I dont know if the bumper will come painted or if they will have to paint it, will they use the same paint brand...will the bumper be fitted correctly...who knows!?!? Freaking valets....

Sorry to hear about your woes. I trust that the hotel assumes the responsibilty for the accident and that repairs are quick and are performed properly. Good luck!
