Anyone knows the effect of Z tube on 05 6mt coupe?

im aware a lot of folks here are putting the Z tubes on their 03, 04 coupes, a nice and cheap mod. Does anyone know of the effect it has on 05 6mt? thanks

Is this a better route than getting an Injen CAI?

I think that they perform roughly th esame. With the Ztube you don't lose low end torque (at least on the 03-04) But I have read and seen dynos of the CAI losing a slight bit of torque at low RPM's

Thanks for the info. I think I'll just keep my K&N drop in filter for now.

I didnt notice a difference either at first, but next to a stock G, even idling it is a bit of a louder tone, which is nice. You cant feel a few HP that it might make, even if its there. For ~70 bucks, not a bad mod at all that is 100% warranty friendly for a few horses.

some people on here claim they get better gas mileage with the Z-tube. I just received one in the mail today. I'll probably put it on this weekend and see if I notice any difference.

I think like most NA mods, you're not really going to get much for the money. Was the Z-tube worth it....not really, but I don't think most of the mods people do are really worth it short of going FI.

Z-tube

I just installed my Z-tube/K&N FIlter and I love it! I think a 6mt is a must though. if you like to drive in the higher RPM range it's awesome. The sound is really nice and more aggressive then stock.

Tonight I drove downtown and got a lot more heads to turn without driving any different than I normally do.

Both items will cost $110. It is worth it IMO.

I personally mod my car to improve the sound more so than for the performance gains. unless you have plans on a complete intake exhaust system (crawford package +) you will not see any performance gains with this car.
