alternative car to g35coupe to save gas?
With gas prices so high and sky rocketing these days, I am in the lookout for another car to replace the g as my daily driver. What car do you guys recommend that saves a lot of gas and has a good long lasting reliable engine, I'm looking for a used car, not a brand new one. If you guys know of a car that has excellent mpg for daily driving, let me know please. Thanks

Please tell me you are kidding.
Gas prices have temporarily raised about $0.50 per gallon (around here in NJ, it cant be that much more in NY), thats $8 - $10 more per fill up. Considering that you are driving a $35,000 car, that really shouldn't be a deciding factor when it comes to selling your car and trading it in for one that is better on gas mileage.
If you live in NYC as your user name suggests, there are tons of alternatives to driving your own car. Public transportation gets everyone around in the city. Hop on a bus, subway, or taxi..

Personally I'd avoid hybrids with their dual power supplies (gas & battery) because the potential maintenance on these cars can easily offset any fuel savings. One of my neighbors has a VW diesel that's about 10 years old and he gets around 50 mpg. If I were after a fuel efficient car, I'd go with the diesel that has tried and proven techology that won't cost a fortune to maintain.
