At what psi does the Tire Pressure Light go on?

I checked my tires yesterday just to see what psi they were at (TPS Sensor did NOT go off). The psi was anywhere from 29-30 on all 4 tires. I was wondering what psi these tires will need to be at before the sensor goes off in the car. I know the recommended settings are 35 psi for all, I assumed that it would go off anything lower than that...

I don't know, but 28 or lower PSI would be fine. Even a perfect tire loses air at a rate of about 1 psi per month through normal air migration. Tires are designed to carry their full load at many PSI less than the recommended pressure. I think the idea of the low pressure indicator is to inform you of a seriously low pressure condition -- even 20-25 PSI would probably be an adequate floor for that kind of warning.

That's what the dealership told me. My sensor went off about a week ago, and they told me that the sensor will go off if it's below 32 PSI.

Not always right, but a good resource sometimes.

when mine has come on (2 occasions) it has been at 32 psi. I got it checked right after it came on both times and put air in my tires after driving about 1.5 miles.... could 1.5 miles of driving raise the pressure 4psi? i doubt it...

Maybe that's my problem. All 4 of my tires were 32 if I remember right and my sensor has been freaking out ever sense it got colder here where I live. I suppose I'll just put more air in and see if that fixes it.

Mine has gone off about 7-8 times and a four or five times it's been from a slow leak, bad luck with tires. Every time it went off I checked tire pressure and it was always at 25 psi.
