My stock G35 coupe 5a/t just killed a 2002 CL typeS. We raced three times, I beat him by lengths every time. After the first race he said, " What kind of exhaust and intake did you put on that, it sounds great" hahaha I just shook my head and said, " All stock".

It's interesting how people think that Acura TL-S or CL-S are close in acceleration and speed with the G. I had a 2003 Acura TL-S and believe me, it was slower than my '98 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, which is visibly slower than my current G35 (sedan 5AT).

Acceleration-wise, the TL/CL type S is car lengths slower than the G (automatic for both, can't speak for stick-shift since my TL-S was automatic). I mean, it doesn't even come close ....

Does anybody agree with me or is it just my immagination ?

This is a good example of how good Honda is at marketing. There's subliminal messages in Honda advertising.

Just seen a type S at work punch it down the street... Sounds too quiet and didn't look like it had much punch.. The guy neeeded an exhaust on it at least...

I don't know about the sound. I never payed attention to it, but I've killed a cl type S before too.

I killed a CL Type S with a cocky driver, as well. There is even a post about that here somewhere .

 

I have a G35 C AT and a 2002 TL-S AT. Coupe will win every time.

test drove the CL-S before the G35c, when i drove the G35c i was like f that!

i agree. I had a 2003 Acura TL-S and they are fast, but the G ios much faster. My friend bought all my parts off of me, the intake, exhaust, body kit and all when i sold my TL-S and we race all the time. Its funny, my G smokes em everytime.
