i was wondering if the vibrations felt on the gear shifter at 4500rpm is normal. i noticed it after the break in period.

mine vibrates at all RPM's, but really starts being noticable at 2800, perhaps you went over a bump in the road? I've noticed that the entire stick moves when I go over bumps. I hope its solidly mounted!

Yeah, its normal to feel vibrations on the shifter. It's a direct linkage transmission, which gives a more positive feel, and is more durable, but with the side effect of more vibration and noise felt through the shifter. You guys are probably used to cable shifted cars found in most front wheel drive cars. The cable shifted trannies are much more isolated from vibration, but much less direct in feel, and have that vague, rubbery feel, that some people actually prefer, but I hate. Plus, you run the risk of cables snapping when the car gets older. Not a problem with a linkage shifter.
