NO car in the world is flawless (ok, maybe outside of toyotas..lol), but yeah, even the most reliable cars will have a few bad apples in the group.
BMW M3 is by no means bulletproof in reliability, but thats like most cars. you will have peeps who are lucky enough to get the ones that dont break down, and you have those who are unluckyto have a car that breaks down all the time.
however, i would assume that most G35 drivers would go with a M3 if money werent a issue (between these two cars). M3 overall is still a much better car than the G35c, but like others have said, G is just a great value at the price, and it sure looks sexy as hell!
however, one statement i dont agree on is Infiniti is closing in on the reliability/quality standard of Lexus! are you kiddin me? lol... infiniti (Nissan) is NOT even close to Lexus (Toyota) in any quality/reliability standards...far from it!

While Japanese cars are generally more reliable than German, I happen to know dozens of BMW owners here in South FL and none of them complains about their car always being in the shop, other than an occasional bad alternator or coils. People seem to blow up the whole "maintenance nightmare" myth from years ago, or related to the iDrive garbage.

Just for the record, I never put down Bimmer. In fact, I was considering it (see my original post WAY back). I actually have friends who have Bimmers. Unfortunetly, I don't know the year AND I do know they spend alot of time in the dealer repair shop. *shrugs*. I still like Bimmers and especially the M3 (I love their Fender Vent on the later models). But as it happens, I don't like the price they charged either. It's a toss up IF they were the same price but they aren't the same price so the G35 Coupe Wins.

About for reliabitlity goes? again as you point it out, must specify "what year", but simply said the "The downside of the G35 is the build quality which is surprisingly mediocre for Infiniti" which isnt true, cus most of problems was occured with the 03's model.
I am not bashing on M3, I probably like the M3 as much as you do(if that was possible
), thing I dont get is, G35 is entry level for Infiniti, and 325 is entry level to BMW but not many ppl are comparing those two, but usually compare G35 with much more expensive models, and they criticize the G35 for its lack of performance and refinement

I thought about the 330ci, but again, it came down to cost. The G35 sadan is more like the 325 and the G35 coupe is like the 330ci. When comparing the two (G coupe and 330ci), it was an easy choice. Now, for a 2005 G 6MT and a 2003 M3, well, that was harder. So, it came down to the G coupe (no need for me to has the differences, I think everyone did it here).

Hey guys, first off I said that the build quality of the G35 is mediocre. I didn't say that it sucks. OK maybe my standards are high because of my previous cars but I expected more from Infiniti. The exterior paint, the rattles and squeaks, and ho hum interior are what I'm referring to. I had none of those problems with the '95 G20 I bought for a whopping $16K in 1995.
This is the first Japanese car I bought in ten years. All of the cars I bought since '95 were German made: Porsches and BMWs. The paint on those cars were flawless and the cars had a really solid feel to them: no rattles or squeaks after many years, much less when they were new. Granted these cars cost far more than a G35, but I now know that they do provide some extra value for the premium. As to whether or not they are worth the premium is up to each buyer to decide.

So far my G35 coupe has been everything I hoped for and then some. Great performance, great looks, outstanding quality , and an unbelievable price.

I think this post should be dead now. I think the original poster should have a very good understanding of the car. I don't think we need to pond it in his/her head anymore how great or lousy our cars are.
